And wrapped one of the fogs in the laminx... took approx 1 hour just to get this one right, and I'm still not happy with it, but its as good as I'm ever going to get it. The corners on them are a nice person to get looking ok.

Solves the problem of the hole and rust stains in the one atleast :)

I've been able to trace where it's been for the past 5 years too lol.

But times have moved on, time to put some love into something new... My breadvan lol.

That laminx stuff is shit dude, should have got that spray i told you about,

And, how many times have you died them door-cards lol, i'm sure you've done it loads!

Spray wouldn't do the job i needed of covering the small hole from a chip in one of them though, also it comes off in the rain (as you demonstrated at poloshow lol)

Laminx is the best out there for films.

And no, i did the rears ages ago...

Ah right, think i'm thinking of nicks build, he did his not long ago..

Cheers erico, I'm really happy with it. Turned out better than I hoped, really tidys it up. Pissed me off every time I saw all the scratched shit.

Gunna get cracking on my door pods tomorrow, be sick if I can get them done, and get the seats etc back in :)

Also really happy with the fogs, exactly how I wanted them. Can hardly tell they are there :p

Edited by B-shaw

Leave the pods. There minor! Get as much running stuff as possible done!

I've seen those trimmed rear turrets somewhere before. Cant possibly think where......

Looking good though mate.

Oh, and that sub is huge! I could have wired that for you.

Sub is massive haha, was cheaper than smaller ones though so just went for that

Got on with the speaker pods today :) Will be finished by tomorrow

They were originally off a Corrado iirc, started out like this...

Then started the modifying

DSC_0328.jpg

DSC_0329.jpg

Backs now flat, had to make the holwa bigger as they were for a speaker size down to what i had

DSC_0335.jpg

Stick the vinyl back down

DSC_0327.jpg

Test fit

DSC_0330.jpg

Screwed on

DSC_0331.jpg

With pocket trimmed and test fitted

DSC_0332.jpg

That one needs tidying up and putting together properly

Other one is nearly done, just need to screw pod down and fit pocket and tidy up.

Would have finished today but had to leave for work :(

I'm quite impressed with them, will do the job for a year or so :)

How did you stick the carpet down mate ?

Spray adisive ?

  • Author

Correct

come a long way over the years :)

Oh she's making progress now. Those fogs look über stealthy, have you tested them to see what they look like working?

  • Author

Another update :o

I'm on a roll aha!

Finished these;

DSC_0340.jpg

Interior is now pretty much all fitted. Battery had died on the phone so couldnt get any pics. Speaker pods look well in the car tbf :)

Started on this too, needs some more work to make it stronger and a lick of satin black, but i fucking love it!

Story, i absolutely hated not having a cup holder that actually worked as a cup holder, spent a while searching ebay for things to fit, until i took a gamble on this, a rear cup holder from a MK4 Golf/Bora. and it just so happened to be a near perfect fit to where i planned on putting it...

So, after some savaging of the center console, i managed to get it bolted in loosely...

DSC_0341.jpg

DSC_0342.jpg

DSC_0343.jpg

My original fears, where that it would foul the gear stick when out and in 1/3/5 gears...

So, the test fit, was make or break...

DSC_0345.jpg

Fucking spot on!!! About 1cm clearance between them.. I was quite pleased haha!

Just now need to make it stronger as those 2 small bolts through flimsy plastic wont take the weight of a drink or two. Shouldn't take much doing though, some sort of bracket to keep it held up

Need to butcher a bit out of the plastic at the back too that the center console screws into as the one arm of the holder fouls it and wont let me close it properly.

Paint it satin black and its done!

1x 2x cup holder in a MK3 that actually holds cups :o And it looks kinda stock too :D

toby are you feelin ok mate? youve done a lot!

not long now! see you on the strip in 6 weeks!

Yeyyy .. Engine turn over btw ?

I'm using that section to put choke and limiter etc... Just tucked away abit :)

  • Author

Dunno where I'm putting my choke yet, probably do that tomorrow actually

Not done a great deal, cup holder is in and painted, bonrath air intake is painted, fit tomorrow.

Hopefully, have it all wired up tomorrow,

DSC_0355.jpg

DSC_0353.jpg

Just a shame that because its high up its too close to the ash tray so i can only get small cups/cans in

Useless

Ahhwell, its a cool little feature that can at least hold small things.
