Vat and Duty should have been charged, your supplier would have rigged the customs declaration to avoid you paying VAT and Duty. This is all well and good for the end user but its breaking the law however you look at it.

Cheapest i could see , 55w (not 35’s) with H7R bulbs was £44.99 + £5.00 postage

35watt kits are about £30 / £35 quid unless I cant see the cheaper 55w kids in the uk with h7r bulbs

(but then again looking at the picture of the kit it seems to be made well)

Its not that bad really , Would have loved if it was like the 6n where there was so much space to install a hid kit in 3/4 mins But they stuffed a engine in andmade no room for anything

Just looked at the declaration on the box it came in , Nothing is ticked. Normally they tick gift although its not which bypasses import tax which is bad really.. But on the label they have stated what is inside normally there really vague, If this was sorted out it would drag the price up (which to be fair I think it should, its tax evasion / fraud?), then people would probs consider buying in the UK. something like this affects people trying to make a living like your self

Good reviews across the products , if my parents came to me i would probs send them your way as they are people who like piece of mind when buying things and like to be backed up by warranty’s. I'm the opposite , don’t mind a gamble

I wasn't getting at you for purchasing the kit you have. Although I wouldn't have bothered with the 55W kits, we can even get 85W kits. We never have though as to be quite honest they're not worth the cost for the gain or lack of gain in this instance.

I'm interested in how the market trend has changed over the years.

When we first started out 7 years ago, people wanted quality but didn't want to pay the £250 price tag. Ever since then we have provided quality kits with some members of this board having had theres installed for around 4-5 years now.

Since then the quality has dropped off slightly to reduce the price further, 4 years ago ish H4 Bi Xenon kit was £175. Now they're £69.99. So components have been changed and cuts have been made to a reasonable level, faults are still at a low % rate but higher than the 0.3% the original kits claimed to have had.

I can still supply the same £175 kits but not many people want this anymore and it seems people would rather pay as least as possible even if it does mean losing warranties and customer service.

Times have changed once again and we may just have to give the customer what they want. £30 - £35 kits, but keep the customer service we offer and a UK warranty.

We have actually had people testing these kits for us around the UK and all reports have been good so far.

I have no idea what the figures are but my opinion:

But i guess that %90 of people opt to buy budget coilovers under £250 (including my self) for cheap lows.

Where as people who want the quality and to go low will spend the extra and get decent ones.

Apply that to hids , the ones that come built into new cars (i think ignite instantly? and are of good quality)

Where as aftermarket kits from china are cheaper , cheap materials but work

Over a period of 5/6/7 years , you'd think that the more expensive kits would last longer.

where as coilovers ,my old 6n had real cheap and nasty ones on that rusted and went nasty.

I went for FK's on the 9n this time and they currently have lasted alot longer and have stayed okay to some extent

I think with the market now , everyone’s trying to grab a bargin.

Where in asda the other day , Trying to get to food bill down we where sacrificing quality for quantity / price

I'm a guy that likes my food :grin: but after having it wished i would have spent out more

I have read through all these comments, and have gained quite alot of knowledge so thanks very much for that.

I wont be buying from china as in my personal opinion i am untrusting due to previous purchases :(

I will be buying a H7R kit from xenonsonline^^ providing he can sort out some kind of forum discount haha! pleeeaseee...

I'm going to wire them in and make it tidy so IF i do need to change for the MOT, it will be a quick process (although this is mounting against all the other MOT changes I need to make... De-cat and fundamental parts ) :(

Again, thanks for all the help guys, if anyone has any experience with mounting them into a 6n2 16v then I would really appreciate a piccy or something

xenonsonline seem to have very good reviews on site + ebay account , and again backup the warranty within the UK

Good choice of H7R bulbs in reflectors as they make the world of difference

Yes, I heard about the relector bulbs being better:) i just want more light... and ofcourse the look, couples these with LED sidelights so I'm hoping they look mint.

Hopefully nathan can sort me out with a discount if so i will order today :)
