Hi guys , I'm 18 , 1 ncb and driving for about a year an abit

iv had a letter through off the Po Po saying that they had caught me speeding ,

i was speeding at the time due to been cut up before an geting rather annoyed , i got caught doing 58mph in a 30mph limit , but the road was two lanes and had a central reservation type thing and there was nobody about , I'm in a right state over this an iv been told that I'm going to get fined 1000pounds and i will lose my liscence ?

i know I'm such a idiot lol just wondered if anybody had been in this situation before ?

Not sure you will though as that's nearly double I would presume points and a fine I reackon £1000 is a bit steep to be honest

Depends on local forces, you might get offerred a driver improvement course or 3 points and £60. In which case grab it with both hands.

If you end up going to court. You'll be lucky not to get 6 points, which is probably a ban is you'll still be on a probationary.

id expct 60 fine 3 points ,maybe a driving course.youll be unlucky to get more than that ,

it will be either of the two Yeti said if you get offered the drivers awareness take it obvs

Google "pepipoo forum" and have a look on there, it'll give you more of an idea what local forces in the area it happened tend to do.

sorry to be the bringer of bad news but they changed the rules not long ago if you get 6 points in the first 2 years then youll loss it intyerly and have to take test agen after the ban is lifted.

fingers crossed you only get the 3

If you get more then 6pts you just have to retake your test which you can do straight away. Its not the same ban you get for over 12pts.

I got caught doing 49 in a 30 and was told I was lucky to get away with three points and a 60 pound fine :/

So basically iv lost my lisence then pretty much ? :(

I might get lucky though but i doubt it

Id say 3 points and £60. I got offered a speed awareness course for doin 81 in a 70, but you were almost double the limit! Depends on the area. Fingers crossed though

Those awareness courses are only offered if you were going up to a certain percentage over the limit. 58 in a 30? Thats unnecesary in all but the most extreme circumstances.

I'm 99% sure the least you'll get is 3 pts and 60 bob fine. I'm not sure what they hand 6pts out for. However, and I'm getting back on my extremely high cnuty horse, but I think a ban would teach you a better lesson than anything else. Thats a totally unacceptable speed to be doing for an inexperienced driver in a built up area. What speeds do you do on the m-way? Probably not a lot more due to the poxy nature of the engine. Young male drivers make a huge contribution to the rising premiums of us all, and its stupid driving practices like this that are the cause.

Cross your fingers for 3pts and learn your lesson. As someone who grew up in a village, I know how important a car is, and hence I have always driven carefully. No car = no life for some of us.

Maybe you need to calm down when driving, always act as if everyone elses around you hasn't got a clue whats going on and be prepared for absolute stupidity to occur all around you

If you see old people, blondes, tourists and anyone driving a Merc (normally gold) just stay well clear.

6 point in first 2 years was in force 10 years ago so not really a recent change.

I got 3 points and 60 bob fine on my moped... DOH! I have only just been given my full alowance now! thats 2 years of driving sensibly in a car always looking over my shoulder. In all honesty, we all like to have a bit of a "rag" around sometimes, but only when it is safe to do so (rarely).

I doubt you will lose your license but hope you learn a lesson as i did, cus I was driving around shitting myself for two years basically!!!

Someone cut you up, yet no one was about. Brilliant. Regardless its no excuse for doing twice the limit and frankly if they do decide to take it to court instead of the standard issue notice then you deserve it.

Do you need your car for work etc?

If it goes to court you could easily get away with things such as "I need it for work, I'll end up on the dole being a drain on society" etc, maybe get 5 points meaning if you fuxk up again you had your chance but it isn't a ban straight away.

I doubt you'll get a ban
