Awesome trip, will be doing one similar some time but i doubt the mrs will wanna come, if it ain't in excess of 35degrees and on a beach, she's not interested!

I know for a fact she'd enjoy it, but she wants to do trek-armerica next year, so i doubt me saying "Look jess, we can go to a factory where they used to build all the cars that i drive, that you hate being in" would sway her.

There's a lot to see in the country, so don't try to get too much crammed in. You can easily spend 2-3 days in each city and there's driving time between each place too (note the mileage each day we did). Cost, all in including ferry, accomodation, food diesel etc. about £1400 for the pair of us. We did camp for 5 nights (these are quite expensive however compared to over here) and hostels the rest of the time, which ranged from 50-70 a night for the pair of us. We ate out most days, sometimes just the once, but most of the time twice a day. So we tried to save in some places but extravagant in others. Food and drink is relatively cheap, especially considering the stength of the pound versus the Euro now. My advice would be to plan ahead for accomodation as we ended up paying more than we'd have liked to because the cheaper hostels were booked up. Also, if you can, go out of school holidays to avoid the rush (I think theirs start and finish earlier than ours though). If you want to get the most from Wolfsburg, again, check ahead to make sure they're not on factory shut down (like they were for us). I knew before we went out we'd miss it however but we had to get the ferry booked before they replied to my emails.
