quite abit of weight diff then lol ..

Any idea on a time you want me to come up btw ? if your at tobys whipping him at all i could just pop there..

Just my brothers taking me up on his moterbike so need to know a rough time tbf lol ..

Off topic, drunk, sorry mods lol

Yeah Higgo, iv thought exactly the same. His 60 foot times ain't brill though

Maybe its just me?

Potentially could be

6n 60' time was 2.3526, can't find my mk3 sheet but it was about 3mph faster and 0.5 secs, so 180kg and a little less power only gained half a second

Found it.

Mk3 was 0.02 faster 60' on the best 6n & best mk3 run, mainly because I didn't have chance to practice launching it, 330' only 0.1 faster, 1/8 mile 0.25 faster, 1000' 0.3 faster & 2mph.

So basically if I can get traction be fine! You need to utilise your diff boy!!

I gotta admit i like the springy flywheel in the Golf. Easy to get a good launch in first but then better still is changing up gears from there - the bunjee spring takes the energy out at the right time to prevent wheelspin, but then delivers it back during boost when you need it, giving a kinda double boost and it really launches forward impressively.

This in a 100bhp 1350kg diesel.

I did consider fitting a dual mass flywheel in the Polo, it is possible, but at the time i only had a flywheel capable of holding a 180mm clutch plate and that just wasn't gonna be big enough. But if i was gonna build an engine/box for the quarter mile, i'd definately go for a rubber flywheel.

Spot the dual mass in this pic..

What exactly are the differemces between dual and single mass flys?

Lol. Use google

Its is alot about the driver, i guess higgos time is down to the lighter weight of the shell to begin with, then perhaps better driving. But harris you managed a 15.7 didnt you?

Yeah including wheelspin & shit launches. Remember higgos AFH was 119hp...

probably worked out to about 150+ bhp per ton lol

More than that, if he was down to 680kgs then power:weight was in the 170's, and that's Nissan 350Z level.

If I can get 130 outta mine then I should be able to match that - not that i'd then match his time, all things considered, but still.

Is this golf's only?

.........????

Curborough missed, now this i can't promise, not a good time for me.

Ironic i can finally get the car on the road after a hard year with a sick baby kept it in bits, and now an injury stops me taking part in the events i was looking forward to.

Today i saw the second set of x-rays and my heel bone is fractured clean in half with three cracks, relatively huge surface area, i've had a fibreglass cast put on today which i'll have for five weeks and i'll be on crutches until december. I still think i can drive to the pod and even do a run, whether they'd let me do a run though i don't know?

Kinda pissed off. It's not like i was being a prat, i was just leaping down the stairs, been doing it all my life.

At least i'll be driving in the snow!

You best come mikey!

Also do you have any bits to build a 1.6 afh/avy setup?

1) My leg will still be in this cast, i've got one shot at my heelbone repairing without long term problems, i shall assess the situation come the time. I do expect to be there, running the pod is another matter.

2) Nope - i had a fully built spare 1.6 AFH buried in the shed for a while until a couple of weeks ago.. when i sold it.

DAYMMMMM X10
