i slow down (highway code says to slow down and maintain a safe gap between you and the car infront, so that's what i do... if i have to brake, it'll have to be much softer to avoid being rear-ended by the douchebag tailgater) and when they go to overtake, boot it.

Once had a lorry tailgating me (full 18wheel artic) because the speed limit was 30, and was going to change to 60 in a couple of hundred yards. you have to stay at the speed limit until it changes (if it's increasing) which i did, looked to my right and saw him trying to overtake. Booted my 1L, 50BHP polo and pulled away from him. if he'd have waited a few seconds, there wouldn't be a problem.

Was driving to work today and I slowed to let an oncoming car make a turn across my path, then the douchebag behind me decides he doesn't want to slow down, so tailgates, flashes and beeps at me. Usually I react by braking, but couldn't be arsed this morning and he went on his merry way about a minute later when he turned off. Well done, you got to your destination a whole 0 seconds faster by tooting at me you c*ck!

I don't change the way I drive for anyone else.

Tailgating doesn't bother me. They won't hit me, if they do I'll get thousands of pounds compo.
