Wanted to start a thread for my 9n polo i purchased after passing my test in early july this year. Thought i would show the progress with this thread, hopefully i can get some feedback from people good or bad. The car is a 1.2 12v and had only32k on the clock when i bought it.Below should be a picture of the car when i bought it, I'm still a little new to the forum so I'm not great with posting pictures etc

looks a tidy start that mate, some spacers and lows will sort it out a treat, I run FK Highsports and can recommend, have generally heard good things about the AK's too. I went this same route to be fair, except my pepperpots never made it onto the car. Did you hand polish them? amazing job you've done!

Cheers! You reckon? Like I said I've got 30mm spacers for the rears that should be here tomorrow, do you think 20mm would be alright on the front? That's good to hear actually because I'm really thinking about getting the ak's I know they are cheap and all but I'm not too fussed about ride comfort as long as it looks good because I've seen that the ak's go quite low yeah I hand polished them myself! Took ages and they still need work but I'm aiming to complete them through the winter when I put the steelies back on :)

Looks good man, used to run pots myself. 30mm and 20mm spacers should be fine, infact 30 will look pretty wide at the back. Deffo invest in some coilovers though! To be perfectly honest most of the budget coilovers are basically the same.

I also bought a backbox from fk for around 50 quid... well what i thought was just a backbox. It arrived today and wasnt what i expected at all. The descriptions on the FK ebsite are awful. Cant decide whether what i got is a good or bad thing. Heres a picture.

not a big fan of this bro, but to be fair you could sell this on for more than £50 fairly easily I think mate, or sort a refund? Although I'm not hating- your car= your rules.

I wasn't after 4 pipes, I thought I had just ordered the backbox. I might just bung the extra bit of pipe up and just have 2 popes

Up to you mate, 2 pipes might still look a bit odd though, pretty sure you could see this kit for more than £50 though? Just a thought

any updates on the coilies man? i am looking at getting pepperpots for mine, but I'm worried about the wheels being too small with only 80mm drop. how much are you dropping it by?

I like the colour coded bump strips. my mate is after doing this to his gold in a similar colour. since hes asked cant find any threads with steps in. can you please just give me a quick 30sec guide to what products you used etc please.

Been thinking about 9N3 tail lights myself, although if I'm honest I like the 9N ones anyway

Yeah to be afir the 9n ones are decent, I quite like them when people do them all red

9n3's are different wiring so say you put it all in on the standard wiring loom the indicator will put the reverse light on etc. look on UKpolo.net there is a bloke selling the adaptors for them, or you can contact vw and make your own like he did.

Any plans for splitting and tinting these or just putting them on? 9n3 tailgate would be smart too

What's the difference between the 9n and the 9n3 ones?

9ns are slightly different, outside wisel - front bumper, headlights, mirrors, bonnet, front wings, rear tailgate and glass, rear lights and the rear bumper I think.

Inside wise - interior, seats, dash slightly different, steering wheel, spec wise depends on like cloth or leather etc.

Not sure if the slam panels the same but I'm pretty sure it is, the loom is slightly different as you know off, but easly changed like you have done for the rears. But it has been done and would still be classed as a 9n due to the chassi number.

If I had the cash I would put the 9n3 gti front end on with a 1.8t conversion. Rear tailgate and mirrors.
