Club Polo 2013 RR Day Thread

I don't think they are out in all honesty, a stock GTI polo pulled 123 and a stock mint lupo GTI pulled 126, therefore rather accurate to what you would expect. Your figures are as you would expect I would imagine, back to the drawing board for some people I would imaging.

Gave me some inspiration, shame I'm flat broke

Can I say I had a great time and thanks to all for your company, really nice to catch up with the usual bunch. See you at the next event ;)

No I'm not saying aldons are out, i. Saying others are probably a bit optimistic

I'm excited to see what you do with the Polo mate :)

Haha yeah hopefully itl go better than the bike carb attempt!

My 177000 mile pissrat tdi 110 made 3 more horse power than stock

Why make excuses just dont bother putting your name down for anything lol

True. Photos of work today in Polo chat thread. Name removed from GTi springfest list - sick of expense happening whenever i've taken allocated space.

Cheers for the comments guys, nice to meet most of you although didn't think of asking people their usernames on here!

I think I might get a new sticker for the back - Loads of Smoke and Too Much Poke...

Will be looking into other rolling roads around this area and seeing if I can find one that can cope with all my boooosstt

I found some bits of tyre inside my car too, he left the window open during the runs.

75BHP 70LB/FT...

bit dissapointing, but the exhaust manifold is snapped, exhaust blowing in like 3 places, and the fuelling is off.

Was cool to see everybody today, great to catch up with some and put faces to names. 103bhp from my stock AFH, can't complain, I just have no idea how Higgo managed the 119 he got with the same setup, it's literally his ecu and loom haha. Who was the guy with the lupo that ran first?

wicchris has the Lupo. One of my favourite sounding cars of the day, also loved the white turbo G40 that ran in the afternoon with 2 guys stood on it.

Not too sure why the guy stood on the passenger sill of mine when it was the drivers side wheel spinning up... It was early in the morning, I'll let them off

Here's the video of mine on the rollers with a photo of the state of the tyre/side of the car by the end of attempt 2

Thanks to the clubpolo staffers for clip boarding and dog handling work that helped the day run so smooth.

Good to fit some faces to usernames too.

Anyone care to explain whether the torque is flywheel or roadwheel figure?

There's a little footnote of Torque M-eng '1) no power correction'. What's that mean?

75.1 bhp

75.4 lb/ft

Check suspension geometry/wheel alignment too!

I was chatting to you at one point in the BBQ area where you showed me the video of your cars run. Will be good to see what it gets when you can get a proper run out of it

Yeah I will do, ill get camber guages on it too as it has adjustable top mounts fitted. Its on 4-way air ride so can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to tracking

Ta. Was I wearing them inside? Thought the readout screen was a bit dim.

Tough one. A 3F but on carbs and 4 speed? As far as I know there were no 75 bhp carb models in right hand drive due to it having a brake servo -top speed 106mph.

I think Karl reckoned some RHD Mk1 Golf linkage adaptation might possibly allow using the original left servo bulkhead mounting.

Meh ......
