You got that info from 4 stroke performance didnt you? Lol

But yeah, i didnt get much positive feedback from having my cam retarded from factory position.

Be interesting to see how the GT cam goes in the AEE !

Its simular to standard aint it?

Nope, more lift and duration. Check the FAQ on cam specs. I think lift is something around 10mm and duration around 250 (its measured 1mm off the seat)

GT isnt 250 duration is it?! I thought it was like 218 or something, just more than all the other 8v cams?

You do know the meaning of similar lol? Yeah the GT will be slightly more, but how much more i mean.

Just seen what nicks posted, yeah there the same lift, slight more duration.

3f is GT isnt it yeah? lol. Just noticed the difference between the early and late ones

It's apparently 219° on early engines and 215° on later ones. But that's measured with the valve 1mm off the seat - think I've mentioned before that Cat Cams do a 261° cam that measures 217° 1mm off the seat, so maybe that's where the GT cam being ~250° has come from?

That cam info needs more adding to it, the Polo cams are very poorly documented compared to the Golf ones.

All the worthwile ones are document though arent they? So still OK.

So yeah you should still retain the decent low down performance of the AEE, but maybe gain something higher up in the range.

Nick did you experience any low down power loss with the 268 as i did with the 3F?

Having never been in a car with a standard AEE I cant say mate, however, id like to think the amounts of torque Mikey speaks of are a lot to do with the cam, which I feel isnt as brutal, but then people say AEE's dont rev, and you and I both know mine pulls hard to over 7k

Well. It shouldn't be long untill i've got the AEE in on standard cam, so would be nice to compare. Problem is there's so many viriables with the two engines

Iv wanted to try my standard cam for a while, might have a bash lol!

I wish I'd tried a 6n 1.4 8v cam in the AEE because I think it would've been sweeter and a better compromise. The AEE's truck cam is comical and makes carbs sound ear-splitting, but it wasn't best for power delivery ant top end was crap.

Any specs on the AEX cam?

Is this the info your looking for ??

Can you get the info for the earlier Polos too please?

Haven't got time to go through them all now, but looks like the AEE matches what I'd found and posted in the cams FAQ.

Unfortunately the program only covers from 94>

D'oh! Is it a VAG program?

D'oh! Is it a VAG program?

Yep Elsawin

Are there earlier versions to cover pre-'94, or are we firmly in the realms of the old VW self study guides there?

Nah elsawin doesn't cover pre 94 I don't think !

It's strange, if you don't select a year and then look through all the engines, it does list the pre 94 ones and the models they were fitted too, but it just won't show any details about the vehicles???
