1.6 16v ARC/AFH hybrid issues. help?

Still not running properly. Put the colourtune on cyl1 which is the suspect cylinder, and it was firing.

Loads if smoke, lots of misfiring and alot of fluid wether it be oil or fuel on cylinder one.

Heres a video.

You need to whip the head off and do the gasket man.

But like i said, if youve got a spark and compression in the suspected cylinder then its either an air leak or the HG

Maybe the leak is such that its allowing oil/water in on the induction stroke. But that fluid is helping it to seal on the compression check.

Did you sniff the plug to try and get an idea of what was on it? Does look oily tho

Why were you asking for used head bolts on face book the other day? You do know they are one use only?

Surely if it has good compression then it can't be the head gasket or rings, it must be valve stem seals. If it is stem seals and there's lots of oil in the chambers could this not be the cause of the misfire?

nahhh was just wondering if anyone had any unused ones lying about. u never know lol

think it was oil. also judging by the blue tinge to the smoke

Are you getting any abnormally high amounts of pressure coming through the crank case oil breather?

Also have you noticed if its lost any coolant yet?

Silly but you checked if the breather pod is blocked ?

Nah i haven't tbh. Ill have a look tomorrow as I'm out tonight

Id whip it off dude .. 3 or 4 allen keys .

Start with the simple stuff mate, before ripping apart the block replacing fried piston rings, with a mad scientist! (Simon??)
