Polo 1.4 8v ---1.6 gti Conversion

Featured Replies

Being using the forum for a couple of weeks and thought it was about time to show what I'm planning on doing...

Basically wanting to build a weekender car, So i got the Polo of my brother who had a minor front ender, he was going to scrap it and i saw a chance to turn the poor things life around Lol..

I picked up an AVY engine got a good deal he also threw in the ECU,6N2 DASH and other few bits, so first thing i did is sent the head off for, pressure test and skim if needed, also had the valves reseated, valve guides and seals replaced.

This morning i stripped the block down and got the pistons out to replace the shells and get ready for the block to be sprayed!

The cam cover is already being painted.

So thats the engine side of it, which i will be tuning ovcourse :)

As far as the car at the moment, I'm in the process of stripping the car down to its shell, having it resprayed, then refit all the 6n2/gti stuff i can, also installing uprated suspension all round, coilovers and not to sure of what route I'm going to go down with wheels and tyres....

Thats as far as i am atm as everyone on here will know seems to take ages when you want to do it properly!!

Ill keep you posted with pics of the progress
