  • Picking up the new coupe Saturday. Once I start work on it ill make a new thread pretty excited

fuel pump wires ?

Just a black ignition feed shall do dude :)

yeahh we wanna try get it going on the lift pump. just dunno where to start!!!

if that fails then the facet. howd you do yours jamie?

Jamies using a bike pump with an ignition feed off wire to coil.

Just rewire the lift pump, probably easier lol.

yee we were gonna use facet, but u gotta modify the spi fuel system innit.

would wire up lift pump if i knew how lol!

As Eric says really, wiring isn't my thing at all, to anyone else its proberbly a 5 minute job haha

yeee same. i struggle electrically tbh. so wiring fuel pumps up isnt my strongest point!

Who fancies coming to wire it up tomorrow lol!?

Well this is how it sits today, gonna have an attempt at wiring this fuel pump to a switch. Being a complete noob when it come to fuel pumps (sorry)

Which do I need us by the back wheel there are what looks like 2 pumps, only had a quick look last night.

Once that's on a switch ill connect the fuel lines to the carbs

Get some radiator pipes fill it with coolant and see what happens :)

This is how it looks currently, no show car but I'm happy

The live feeds for the pumps are by the fusebox.

Just a red and yellow wire. Try putting 12v to it and you should hear the pumps come on, hopefully eric didnt cut them or anything when the fusebox was taken out.

You ideally want to be using a relay to power it too.

So you dont need to go anywhere near the pumps by the way.

Well updates as follow

Fuel pump sorted it was wired into my immobiliser which made it fun to remove. But that's now done on the ignition, I will run it too a switch at some point.

Its not giving the carbs enough fuel though we nearly had it start but die to lack of fuel it wouldn't have it :(

All in all though, stupidly happy. Its so close

As for the old coupe I sold it to someone then he sold it it now belongs to someone on here called Ryan he lives in Bicester

niceeeee! ill drop by tomorrow evening and sort it if weathers good. are u still using both pumps?

552DD1D1-52F7-4A7C-90EA-2631AA6CB02B-585

So tonight when the rad hoses are here well connect everything up, ill let Eric check over the t piece to see if I've got everything right before the carbs go on, then crank it over see how we get on.

This is the 5th day of the engine conversion havnt had time in the week so 2 weekends and today can't be bad
