Don't think I'm going to lower the front just yet as the I reckon it will rub need some 155's or something if they make them...

How much did you lower it by? And are you still driving the golf or is this your one and only?

  • Author

I havnt mate not yet anyway, the previous owner said the kit was 70mm which seems about right,

Nope sold the golf didnt want to but had to reduce my out goings and insurance is a lot cheaper on this so I'm down to one car :(

mytyers sell 155/55 if I'm correct

Cheers dude looking on tyre stretch 155s are so skinny might just have to such it up and stick to the 165

If you go low enough the lower arm will go past centre and will pull the hub in... bit of a nice person with non adjustable (camber) struts though as your left with positive camber. some offset top mounts and stupid low will bring the wheel in ;)

Cheers man appriciate that. I need some of those camber top mounts but can't find them anywhere!

This is the poke nothing crazy but its enough to spoil my plans!

Could get away with that dude, 165/55/13's and et 20 something is what my fronts are (not very specific i know) slight arch pull and it never caught and you know the height of mine :-)

I've owned this about 2 weeks now. Just to show how much its changed in that time

2 weeks ago (there was tints on the front too and a sun strip, this is all I took though)

Now, nothing specially just generally tidied up, deciding on an engine currently and that will be being sorted ASAP as well as suspension and interior. Tempted to go track orientated.

Same picture as before but just wanted to show what a shit piece it looked before (in my opinion)

Are you going to give your wheels a lick of paint?

  • Author

Quite possible not anytime soon though I quite like the grey, although In the summer ill proberbly have polished lip red centre with polished spokes or something.

Not liking the grey??

It's not that I don't like the grey, just that Alleycats need to be all polished up :)

Red centres would be sweet

Like these C0AF48A4-9B59-4881-8A65-4CDA6444E9F3-113

But if I'm honest I can't be arsed with the upkeep of polished wheels anymore had to many and they do my head In keeping them shiny

Paint them a nice bright silver then :)

Well the cars in the garage just had a phone call..

List that needs doing

Front wheel bearing

2 rear wheel bearings

Track rod ends have plan in

Driveshaft gaitor is split

Suspected play in the top mounts which could be dude to the suspension

Only going by what the garage just said on the phone.

Fucksaaake

Front wheel bearings can be done when it gets lowered... now setup time? rears are a 20 min job, really. gaiters and setering arms done at time of lowering.
