Polo's always have been more suited to the dizzy rascals than a lot of other stuff, all out power is more of a disadvantage and amazing handling isn't important either. All you need to be competitive is some thing light, nippy with a good hand brake and a total disregard for your cars well being

End of the day its just ragging it round some cones, hardly a test of how good a car is. Didn't Matt win it is a standard GT breadvan one time?

tbf underneath the scruffy bodywork that car was actually pretty solid. apart from the battery tray, its more rust free than my blue mk2!

It's probably the pikey paint job that a lot of people can't see past. no matter what else you do to a car, if you just rattle can it getting overspray all over the place and painting over stuff like the sun roof its always going to look like a shed. Tbf it seemed to go well and you looked like you enjoyed the shit out of ragging it around the DR's which is what really matters, but you can't really blame people for thinking its a shed when the first thing they see is that paint job
