1st one just looks like two pistons perpendicular to each other, on one throw.

2nd one, two cranks, one rotates one way, the other, the other way. No advantage?

3rd is just a normal stroke?

I don't see any advantages, still incur the frictional losses of the rings on the walls and the bearings..

You've missed the point Adam - they're just piston engines. Clumsy.

Instead of just showing the third one, which is what you find in the car, i put the first and second in to show a couple of variants on the design (the first just has a knuckled rod/linkage set up to put more leverage on the crank).

I wasn't even joking.

Also what the point of the first idea? Apart from having two more friction areas of resistance and appears to stop at TDC on a much larger dwell angle

I often sit and wonder if Mikey is for real or just sits and chats shit to get a reaction for his own amusement.......apparantely he has a polo?!

So basically it's another way of turning linear motion into rotary...so what did you learn after primary school? Hehe

But, what if you could skip the linear part?

The first one is surely for leverage - the piston rod travels further than the crank rod, increasing torque. Quite why this is necessary instead of using a longer stroke crank directly, i have no idea.

What i need to know is how to patent mine!

I think my car is irrelevant in all this. But i've just been to my gallery, poor show admittedly, not even a pic with the stripes or current engine. I shall put a fresh pic up tomoz, if anyone is interested.

Meanwhile, have a gif of a rotary chamber at work. How the tips last more than 27 seconds between rebuilds i have no idea, and how it makes any power is almost beyond me too, but though my design is very different there are some similarities in the issues, and the fact that a rotary can do reasonable mileage and put out fair power does give me some confidence.. I like the way it doesn't need valves, and that the whole four stroke cycle is done in one revolution.
