bumber and doors panels

Featured Replies

Hi. I was trying find something about bumper and doors black panels, but couldn't find anything, so here I am!

All what I am trying is to change those black panels going all around the car on all doors and both bumpers.

I thought about either painting them or swap for originally red painted ones.

Would be any chance doing so?

Fairly simple buddy, I wouldn't bother with swapping them, there a pain to remove and even worse to refit in a straight line.

Your vest off painting the. The front and back ones just clip in, so best to remove these. The doostrips will need painting on the car, so just mask off the urroundong area. They will need to be degreased and cleaned as mush as possible. Using a medium sand paper on them wouldn't hurt.

You will need either a adhesion promoter or plastic primer, regular prineer, color (in guessing flash red?) And a clear. You can get them all from halfords etc. So. Clean them let it dry, then put a light coat of the plastic prime on, let it dry, then a few coats of egular primer. Let this go off well, then if it's uneven or bumpy then sand down with 330-400 grit sand paper, thenif needed give anoth light coat of primer. Then the color and then the clear.

Lave it for at least 4 hours then if needed use 80-1200 grit wet paper to flat down the clear coat and use a citing compound to polish them .

If your not too confident then take it to a bodyshop, but thy, if you remove the front or back and start on that, itsnot going to be the end of the world if you mess it up, as its off the car.

Hth.
