i'm actually thinking i might not bother. I think it makes it look a bit fussy with the extra detailing.

Hopefully get the paddle clutch, and service kit for the 16v sorted soon, rebuild and drop the lump in over easter.

10 points that man. VWM 4 branch manifold from S1600 6n2. no idea if it will fit inside a mk3 bay yet but worth a try.

Haha, what a guess, didnt even bother looking up the part number! Hopefully it wont foul the ARB, if it does.........then i guess its time for a wishbone conversion!

car will have a wishbone conversion regardless at some point, once i've sorted the rear springs out and made some new front coilover struts (mine are somewhat battered)

Could still foul the subframe.

Then again, if you know what your doing, modifying the subframe shouldn't be much of an issue. Or if you know someone that can weld and bend pipe.

if i'm honest, the manifold looks huge in the downpipe section in photos, it's actually not that bad compared to a normal mk3 one - remember the mk3 downpipe goes 4-2 but the pipes sit diagonally. It'll be close for sure, but we'll have to see!

I know Dan (Renegade440) had to get his subframe re-done to miss the 4 branch on his afh.

That was a PPS Subframe. Not sure what PPP ones are like. If you did go PPS, i dare say Norman will have the measurements he used to re-do dans to miss the mani, so should be able to build it for a straight fit.

i actually was very close to painting the block blue, but got given a tin of black engine paint the day before i painted it!

I'll be in touch once i actually get anywhere near putting it in the car.

I've just been fitting the pulleys for the cambelt kit and a new water pump, before covering it all up and heading back to uni for a few weeks. Will order a head gasket and a set of stretch bolts so i can get the verniers setup.

I'm also considering running a mk3 sump like heg123 did to maximise clearance.

Well, i have eventually managed to sort out the head gasket, after having a bit of a nightmare having to get stretch bolts i've now managed to get the gasket fitted, the head bolted back on, new water pump, cam belt kit etc etc.

Just waiting for the sump to return, engine mount plate to be laser cut (see CAD drawing) which i'm going to put a captive nut on for the extra bolt in the engine mount

The next time i'm home i'm intending to strip the engine bay back as far as possible, finish stitching the legs and re-triangulate the bulkhead onto them

fits like a glove. i have measured how much it extends from the block to try and measure ARB/SUbframe clearance

whats spec injectors are you running mate? also what bodies?

Jenvey TS 40mm bodies, low profile so i can run the longest trumpets possible to bring the torque and drivability up.

I haven't specced injectors yet, as theres a fairly complex equation to work out whats required
