Matt's TDI project

Featured Replies

Yo people's, though it was about time to start a project thread, progress is a little slow due to other money comitments but I'll get there in the end. I'll start off apologising for any spelling mistakes etc as I'm doing this all through my iFail!

Right so I moved on from the 6n that I rebuilt by my own hands due to the piece of crap always falling apart!! style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/lol.gif

I picked up a little mercato blue 6n2 1.4 TDI with 88k (full service history) in march, its a 'S' which I think is a low spec as it doesn't come with alot. Once I got it I cleaned it up as it was a little filthy so here it is

So I decided I would run it for a month before doing anything so I could iron out any problems.

First thing I did was fit front fog lights + grilles

F289A2E4-D662-4426-81FC-BD6F28BE2F17-549

Then realised it was 6years since the last Cambelt was done so thought I better whack one on, with a water pump just for peace of mind, chucked in a oil + filter change for good measure

Cheeky little de-wiper on the rear

386BF61F-156E-4169-B4F7-22CE61140E00-549

Then my window switches decided to shit there pants so I stripped them down to find out why...

FF2B4187-EA2D-40BE-B4A2-725AD2FF0501-381

They were all rusted to fuck (common problem) so I cleaned them up out a thin layer of Vaseline in and bobs your uncle they're spot on.

I have fitted cloth mk3 golf VR6 seats (haven't any pictures though)

The most recent thing I have done is this

EF11BAB3-8577-4C28-AC91-0411ACBE8171-549

9DCCBFD1-275A-49E9-A6AD-2EC4E84A24EE-549

Still a little wiring to do on it but its nearly their.

Future mods are to lower it abit but I'm not going low low, still want to get over speed bumps.

And I want these, I know they won't be to everyone's taste but I like them!

Anyway I will update as and when things change, feel free to comment good or bad, ideas or whatever

Safe

So my OSR brake pipe decided to snap both sides of the flexi meaning I had to change the pipes from the ABS pump all the way to the caliper.

Started in the first wheel today, they're going white and blue.

Blue is finished in this one just needs lacquering then once dry tape it up and spray the parts white that are taped up in this picture if you see where I'm coming from.

First time I've ever sprayed anything so please don't expect anything great... So far it ok

Decided on this as the final outcome for the wheels.

The white still needs doing in that pic but you get the idea

Looking good man! What are then leathers out of?
