Wiper problem is the stork dude, same thing with mine :( as to the fuel problem, you are correct but I would say it wouldn't start if that was the problem

  • Haha that actually cracked me up!! There was the massive risk of completely fucking it up and having a massive hole in my roof and I did chop and change my mind as wether to do it or not a million t

  • Really liking how this is looking! Can't wait to get my Polo, not till the start of next year though :(

  • Update: Changed this To this And also got myself some leathers... Not the best of condition but not the worst and there's no rips/tears etc

Yeah I thought it would be! Yeah it would still start if there's fuel in the fuel filter to be pulled through then the HP pump would do the rest when running, if I get insufficient fuel in the filter housing it wouldn't go and then I'll be fucked haha

Had a mare of a day Saturday but got the centre console in, only sticking up in pictures because I'm going I paint it all gloss black so didn't see the point glueing it down only to remove it again, also will trim the badly trimmed bit so it will look better

Started cracking on with tinting the lights today, they're pretty much done but just need a polish to give then more of a shine and less of a pastel look

Like new wheels man

One of my favourite wheels for a 6n2! Sitting real nice, just clean the tyre mounting paste for the next lot of photos ;)

Loving it :)

Now get them seat belts in :)

  • Author

Cheers guys :) yeah gunna start looking at the seatbelts next.

Also made a pretty shit job with the arosa console so getting a new dash and going to possibly do something a little different while it's out the car

  • 3 weeks later...
  • Author

Not been too much going in with it at the moment, collected new dash Saturday and unsure what yet but going to do something OEM+ with it while it's out and got a few (probably childish) things I'm going to fit whilst dash is out.

For now here's a pic to keep you entertained

Fitted some chrome TDI clocks today I managed to get hold of (apparently they are very rare)

They are basically identical to the GTI ones except obviously they have the glow plug light :)

This

To this

The clock doesn't work in the top because mine doesn't have the feed for it as standard, so I will either wire it up or like lupoluke did add in a boost guage in its place

Why i didnt get these i dont know...

  • Author

I don't know why either

  • Author

Soooooo basically it's not a wiring issue with these clocks.... The guy who sold me them swapped the Tdi motherboard with the GTI motherboard so everything works except the clock as there is no connector to plug it in to on the board.

Safe to say I'm pissed off. Bloke claims he didn't know and it all worked in his but I call bullshit on that.

So basically I'm just going to spray my rings a different colour temporarily until I decide what I'm going to do when I'm a little less pissed off. Rant over

So this is the mess I had

And I was to annoyed to build one back up so currently driving like this

name and shame ;)

also awesome motor :D

  • Author

Haha it wasn't from on here so I wouldn't even know if they were a member.

Cheers dude

Sweet car.

  • Author

Cheers

unfortunately thats the way i done my clocks dude! i was wondering on that first pic why the clock wasnt working :S I think you can just solder the plug onto the motherboard of the TDI clocks but i didnt fancy it at the time...

edit: all i have done to remove the clock is trim the centre ring away and bung it up to stop dust getting in and then took my battery off at midnight to reset the clock back to the correct time...
