Would I have seen this on the A34 on saturday, between bicester and oxford in a layby?

How do you find the G40 shocks and 40mm springs? I'm thinking of a similar combo myself rather then the cheap lowering kits..

The G40 shocks and Eibach springs seem ok. The rough surface at bovigton showed up its limitations though.

Yes that was me and yes I made it. Pulled over as there was a large dip in the road which meant there was a bit or arch rub and I wanted to make sure everything was ok :)

Bovington was fantastic.. really good day and interesting track. Its real tough on cars but I am happy to say the polo went great. It surprised quite a few drivers there which I'm happy about..

Well.. that's kind stopped at the moment. I'm having a brake from spending on the car and actually using it. :)

There are only 2 video that I can find of the car.. one from some one who started after me trying to catch me up and another slowly catching me. But its not wheel to wheel racing its about a 30second gap so you don't see much of the polo. but I'll put them up tonight :)

I'm glad to say though over £10,000 was raised from the day for Help for Heros. That's bloody great that is!!!!

Stopped at the top as I forgot to turn my fuel pump on :)

The manifold is one from PhilJ.. well I got it from eBay but they are basically the same. Aand the rest of the system is a custom one from Longlife.

which conversion are you going the GT one or the 16v one?

sweet thanks mate well I'm going to be putting a AFH engine into my f reg polo coupe s on cbr1000 carbs, cam'd and with the same sorta exhast as you, it should be fun, I'm going to be picking up my 16v engine on friday then its all go go go :p :p

you might find CBR1000 carbs are a bit big for the engine though, but it will still be a hoot! :-D

Dose it matter what size the carbs are as thay have sliders in them, not like car carbs, shorly its more what size the main jet is !?!?!? ow and what fly wheel did you use, the one from the AFH??? I've got me engine now and cant wate to get it in :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

Yeah it does really.. bigger is not always better

Yeah they are the same I just think it came from a mk3 :) so it shouldn't be a problem.

not yet sourced a AFH but car passed its mot today, so i dont mind putting some pennies into it now.

i have sourced some carbs, but they are apparently incorrect for the job, i have now been given some R1 carbs which i will try, but i personally think the 40mm venturi is too big, what size venturi are the cbr 600 and are they semi down draft carbs?

Yup.. what he said :) I don't think I would go any bigger that 38mm with what people have said on here. The CBR600 has 36mm ones I think.. and it work really well on them... i mean really well...

are thwy semi down draught ones? (they dont need an airbox!)

max, please could you do me a big favour, save me having to do loads of maths and research, would you measure your inlet tracts from manifold to carbs. i have made my own manifold and if the inlet manifold is the wrong length it can create running problems. if you can let me know the length on your inlet that would be great.

Was round your dads today with my dad, he mentioned what your car was running and had to check out the thread, and it is unbelievable what you have done.

I've currently just started working on my car ( mk1 saxo vtr, on saxperience)

will be keeping an eye on this, wouldn't mind seeing it in the flesh to get some advice/inspiration
