Cool.. you got a build thread?

Do you have the driver side or the passenger side? I've got 2 of the passenger side already so I might try and use bits on the drivers side.

The pads are just Roloc ones but its only used on paint and stones-chip stuff. On the under seal I use a paint removing disc on a drill like tool.

I thought I had a drivers side but its been that long since I got it I had to check and it is a passenger side one too!!

I have been using the Roloc ones, do you know the part number for the paint one you use. If i'm thinking the same its a redybrowny colour quite hard and course?!

No build thread yet, taken the pics but nothing up.

I meant to look at what kind of Roloc that I'm using but I totally forgot. Will look next week for you :)

New Drivers 1/4 panel ordered from VW might be here in a month or so as long as they don't turn around and say its obsolete.

Did some more work on the drivers sill.. and found a hole :(

also started to get the surface rust off the bonnet

and the boot where someone decided it would be good to screw the number plate on with self tappers!

God that looks pretty bad.

Hmm that's worrying.

My mk2 has simular sort of rusting around the rear aches, at the bottom. I wonder if it shares the same corrosion else where.

Picked some of these ramps up today from the NEC Classic Car show

I've started using the 777F 80grit which are ace at stripping the sealer and attacking any rot areas for stripping back.

Bad find on the rot but as you say you never know what your going to find when going all the way back!!

Well.. its been a good week.. Roll cage purchased should be here Monday

Phoned the dealer to expect them to say the 1/4 is obsolete but to my surprise that it had been there for a week and they have been trying to get in touch with me. (They had the wrong number). So loaded it on my new multi purpose vehicle!

I've been on vagcat and a now antiquated version of ETKA 7, and it still showed quite a few panels as still available, allbeit at quite high prices!

It was £280ish. So rather pricey but it means the work to fix all the rust will be easier now we can take the panel off the car.

Seat re-trim like that would be round £500ish + VAT i think but its best to give them a ring to get a proper quote.

Looking to get the car booked in for March which gives me to the end of Feb to get the body work done and painted..

Certainly do-able in that time frame.

I was lucky one of the lads at work was happy to take my Coupe on after work, and over a weekend. We got plenty done, quickly.

Cheers.. well it will be the whole of the interior. Seats, door cards, headlining and carpets.

The cage was off eBay so it was rather cheap! :-D

Ahh ok

Reason i asked was Higgo said you where running a R1 fuel pump. Must be mixed up with someone else, or i just mis-heard lol.

Just realised how cheap that one is, compared to a facet. any difference? Looks the same all but the stickers lol.
