No updated for another couple of weeks as last weekend was the Polo Show and next weekend is Club Polo's track day... :(

Well small update when in yesterday and did some small things

took the windows our of the drivers door

and then started working on the little parking dinks in the door

more next week :)

Small update..

Did some more filling and sanding where the quarter pannel had been welded

Also there was a small repair in the door that left a dent which I filled

forgot to get an after picture! :(

Won't see her now for another 2 weeks.. :( but will be heading to Goodwood Revival.. which will be grand! :)

Not too much of an update..

The new quarter panel had fittings for the mk2f (Mk3) rear bumper so these had to be plated and new hole drilled for the mk2 fittings

this was made wider and the bumper clip inserted

first time the bumper has been on in over a year

Yeah it wasn't the most fun job in the world but I had a copy of the Thatchams workshop manual which shows the positions of them all.. So there were a few stray ones but I found them.

Got my new tyres delivered today.. well happy :)

So I can now book my Mahle wheels in to be refurbished. Also since having the VWII callipers fitted to the black polo the Mahles foul on them so I have got some nice 3mm hubcentric spacers so it is no longer a issue :)

where did you get the 3mm hub centric spacers mate and how much as i get peed off with the standard ones i have taking the wheels off and putting them back on.

I got the spacers from eBay they were not cheap at £30/40 but I know I would just get sooo pissed off with the cheap non-hubcentric ones.

Its just dawned on me, where the fuck did you get them from? They are discontinued? I spent ages searching, even emailed Yoko themselves to be told they have none/wont ever have them

I hope it looks like a brand new car.. outside and in. The interior will look rather different though as everything will be custom apart from the carpet and dash :)

yep 175/60/13's... I got them from Blackcircles at about £50 each.. bargain if you ask me :)

Pretty much all the welding has been done.. there is a few bits and bobs but nothing major so now its on to prepping for paint! :) I should have the car painted and back home for Christmas! My Aim is to have it ready for Standford Hall :)

Long time no visit to this thread

All of that welding work I'd have probably had to do to my Mk.2 Coupe but as it's dead now I've kinda got away with it

Really good to see this progressing from the early days when I last saw it. Very impressed by the dedication shown to the cause

Well this is how I left her on Saturday

Hole drilled for bee-sting

all brakes and steering removed..

Rear beam will be coming off this week ready for the under side to be cleaned, stone chipped and painted.. :)
