Amazing work Dude,

looking forward to seeing it all done,

Where did you source your head gasket from? a wee cheeky link would be most apprediated :)

This is really nice fair play. on the Canada rocker cover. they also had them made in Mexico I have both. The Canada one is far better qualiry to look at.

Nylocks on hub nuts???

If they are, swap em out!

Everything looks sweet though mate 8-)

I'm slowly starting to think I might actually get this finished!!

Coming along nicely :) Those shafts look like early ones, the passenger side one (short one) is much thicker on later cars. Not sure about the drivers side one except they are different lengths depending on the gearbox. (changed over in late mk3s) As for the weight, apparently 895cc mk1s didn't have it. :) There is an instruction in the mk2 haynes (and prob mk1 and 3) about the weight location, although I've never had to mess with one so I don't know how good the information is.

ohh boyyyyyy!

Cheers for the info about the shafts... tbh I wasn't too impressed with them I'm going to get new CV joint on my original ones and then fit them but these will get them though the MOT and hopefully Stanford hall.

The work on this is simply incredible, making extemely satisfying noises all the way through your thread :ninja:

Great work man!

looks great dooood, i wouldnt worry about the engine, mines not too great either when its cold, bogs down a little if i rev it. soon clears up though, wierd!

The engine has been standing over a year so its needs a good run to clean it out...

Sadly this wont be at stanford hall... just too much to do and if I could get it MOT'ed there would be loads of little bits I wouldn't be happy with.. So the next show she will be at will be the Polo Show.

boooooooo

poloshow FTW!

Looks awesome dude!
