hahah yeah I don't think it will ever be sold. It will hopefully be heading a sunnier climate with us when we head back to the States.

plus a spare rear beam so I can see about fitting a rear ARB!

You only need the bottom half .. Didnt have to buy the whole front end of a gti lol ;)

Oh I know.... but wanted some other bits and bobs from the whole engine :)

the bits I don't use I can put up to sell :)

Keeping an eye on this now mark, glad i could be of service!

Are you not tempted to just run it as a full GTI engine mark?

well I wasn't until you just said that, no! :)

But I would have the bit of the issue with wiring. Also standard these put out the same power as what my AFH is currently doing so not really much point in changing. but it would look good under the bonnet! :)

Is it head flow capability of the AFH thats desireable over the Gti?

Yeah it should make more than 125 on the carbs though? Mikey has used the mk2 ign setup with one.

Have to drill cam etc to take the dizzy ..Although u could run Stand alone Ignition .

But mark i dont care if your a mod..I will ban you!! somehow haha.

You shall not run the gti head as that AFH rocker cover is too sexy to not use lol .

Oh yeah, forgot about that cover!

Drilling the cams not very hard to do, think thats the way I'm gonna go with the jetta.

Just read this from the beginning! Great build mate, lovely car :)

Ahh sorry I thought you meant run it on ignition.. yeah on carbs it should make more.. probably not much less than the AFH/AVY hybrid.

to be honest I do like the though of running it on injection if I had a load of cash to burn I would put it on throttle boddies and then some stand alone ignition stuff... but I don't :( maybe in the future...

here is the main reason why I'll be using the AFH head! :)

If you invest some money and research into ignition eg mega jolt I'm sure the power curve would be greater ..

I cant justifie spending 1000+ on bodys for the sake of adaptabilty in weather etc.. lol

Theres a guy with an AVY on bike carbs. Made 160bhp

I would have thought that it would have more than a just a set of bike carbs for that power. :?

leaving all this

also found out that its actually an ARC engine not an AVY... not that it makes much difference :)

Next job is to get the head off :)

Wohoo!

Really really like the look of these engines :-)

Any other bits than the bottom end going on the AFH head then?

Cams? Etc

No plans to add anything yet, just going to see how it runs on the standard stuff.
