Well after a small issue with rad fan switch.. (it was working) the engine is running... and there 'seems' to be no issues!

Also got all the suspension fitted

Slightly worried about ride hight as these B4 dampers are longer than the G40 ones I had fitted.

But there was no need to worry as she's sitting back at her normal right hight!!

Took her out for a spin and she rides so well. No crashing over bumps or pot holes just a really nice ride and there is a lot less roll round corners than the G40 dampers. Well happy!!! And better still the dampers are £30 a corner!! :-D

yeti's got it. they are the rubber washers that fit on the pins under the rad. :)

Glad about that,I get headaches when I try and decode the third block of a part number.

did you find the oil cooler changed the oil pressure?

and do you run Vac advance on the dizzy? got mine MOTed over the weekend and had to disconnect the vac advance as it was pulsing on light throttle and sounded like a noisy hydraulic follower haha. needs a proper set up, but I can see why people like this engine, big grin factor and it makes a ace noise!

To be honest I don't know as I haven't got a gauge fitted going to sort one over the next few weeks.

No I don't run a vac advance and its just fixed at full advance. People who do run one branch it across each of the 4 inlets.

I have Eibach Pro springs and the whole setup is just what I was after on the road. But probably a bit too soft for out and out track use but it handled it really well. So really happy with it! :)

it sure is, went out last night for another drive to see what's up, actually floored it, man its savage, good load of torque at low revs 2 to 3.5k then the HP comes in at about 5k to 7. fantastic power. all this was at about 2deg ignition timing too, set it to 5deg now but haven't driven it.. and I'm yet to set the carbs (R6) up properly....

Its been rolling road tuned and they are happy with the fuelling.

the springs are 40mm lower.

As for the brake shields I actually have some for sale!!, Brand new but painted in Hammerrite and just test fitted :)

RIght a bit of a photo dump update..

After the track day it was time for our 2nd European Road Trip

Paris - Lyon - Nice - Monte Carlo - Lake Como - Innsbruck - Nurburgring - Wolfsburg - Gent

3,200 miles in 10 days - well 9 as it was parked up for a day.

I'm glad to report that there were no issues at all. Even driving in 35+c heat at 90+mph. Well happy!!!

Where and what is that car museum you went to? It looks like it'd be quite interesting and I'm tempted with the idea of taking a road trip there myself in a couple of years. (When I've got some money again after all the latest expenditure.)

It's the Stiftung Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg. It's separate to the main Autostadt so quite easy to miss - but it's the more interesting of the two museums if you like classic Volkswagens.

That's some miles there Mark, how was she on fuel? I've just got back from a road trip to the south of Germany again, Oktoberfest and Bavaria this time. Great to see you have the confidence to take this car so far

Fuel was ok.. don't really know MPG though, but really happy with how she went! :)
