so all the water just runs off the edges?

The drain holes will act as normal yeah, you dont really want it water tight as such, otherwise itll have no where to go.

Max, Whats the heater like as theres nowhere for cold air to feed from ?

Thinking of just putting a few lines in mine when i buy one :)

Perfectly fine, it aint air tight lol!

Mine is totally fine, looks so much better with one, you can fettle to fit. Brackets ideally as will hold it up better, need to make some better ones for mine.

but are the long sides sealed somehow...

My heaters not broke from water ingress yet and that includes 10k of daily driving, through a lot of rain too.

It's a £30 odd piece of plastic cut to a shape, not a properly developed cover on CAD by the manufacturer
