Adam's White 6n2

Featured Replies

been quite inactive on the forums for quite a while, but that doesnt mean that nothing has happened,

this is how my car looked at the start of the year:

img0284ed.jpg

I've colour coded the interior vent covers, got some yellow foglights, with yellow flyeyes, and smoked flyeyes on headlights, got a sharan badge and colour coded the front and rear VW badges to white, the rear is chrome on white background, but i never took a picture:

img0317da.jpg

then i finally got some lows for it with some JOM coilovers:

img0332ip.jpg

and the latest big thing has been my new wheels, rota grid v's 7J ET20 with 175/50 tyres on front and 165/50 on the back:

img0352vg.jpg

img0363oq.jpg

I'm also starting some work on the engine bay, colour coding the engine cover white:

i have quite a few plans in store for the car, but I'm unsure of the order i will carry them out, but i definitely want to continue my work in the engine bay, and the exterior, with possible smoothing and arch work being done, and i also want to revamp the whole interior, and am looking out for some mk3 golf or 6n2 colour concept leathers, or some mk3 recaros at the moment

  • another update, which includes more black on the interior, some arch work, so i can go lower in the future (nothing yet as MOT is soon) and a rather unique bonnet bra, as I've never seen one in white

another update to the car, more painting has been done under the bonnet, with blue engine top and the cover over the manifold, not quite sure what thats called.

img1626qm.jpg

aswell as some blue behind the wheels on the calipers

img1290im.jpg

there was also more white colour coding in the interior

img1336hp.jpg

after this it was time for the cars first show, i was on the royal flush club stand at modified nationals, however there were still a few changes happening over this weekend, this was the removal of the sunstrip, replacing with royal flush sticker, and the addition of some pressed plates and a tow strap

img16601.jpg

after this i decided i was bored of my normal ported box with sub and amp, so decided to make a boot build for the car, dont have any pictures of it in the making, but here are some of the finished product

img1498d.jpg

i also found out that fast car magazine got a snap of the car at modified nationals and put it up on their website, which i was very pleased with being the cars first time at a show

Thanks mate! Never thought of describing it as loud haha, just want to try and stand out as much as I can

another update for those interested! saw a good deal on satin black spray paint on ebay, so i decided to freshen up the dull grey interior, anyway heres some pictures as usual. still want to do a lot more to the interior though including the headlining, B&C pillars.

img1556pg.jpg

i also tried on my girlfriends 14" glittery bbs ra, which were slightly too small for my liking, but she has them for sale, they're on gumtree i believe

img1551f.jpg

i also wound down my coilovers a little bit more, and gave it a very good clean inside and out, which is a rare occurrence as normally only the outside gets seen to

img1545xk.jpg

its hard to see the new height because of the uneven ground, however i still wasn't completely satisfied, so the next day the car was back up on the jack and the rear coilovers were wound all the way down, although i dont have any pictures of the new ride height

It's been a sad day for the polo, as I have found what seems to be a major problem with my coilovers, as I investigated a rattle with the parcel shelf to find this

However a friend has come to have a look, and we believe it is the lack of a spacer, which we will try to fit tomorrow, however this wouldn't fit when the coils were initially put into he car, so if it fails again, a custom spacer will be made to keep the shaft from protruding.

Also we will take advantage of the coilovers being off of the car to take the helper springs out, and trim the bump stops to give a but more range on the coilovers, and make it a bit more comfortable

My coilover issue has been very quickly and easily fixed, which I was very pleased about, his was done by putting a spacer on the ridge if he shock shaft which was big enough to stop it protruding through, but I'm still confused as to why it happened.

However with that worry over I can now concentrate on other things, such as the gti spoiler I managed to get for £20 which I thought was a very good price as I don't very often see the part on eBay or anything, so I'm currently respraying it to white so it suites the car, it's the biggest part I've ever painted, so I'll be very pleased if it comes out well, but I'm just looking for a good finish not a perfect one, here it is with the first coat of primer on it!mky6.jpg

and who doesnt like a reflection shot with a polished dish, and my girlfriends a1 sneaking in in the background

i decided in the end to take the spoiler to a body shop to be painted, as i didn't have the ability to get a good finish, so it will be put on when i get it back from being painted

Haven't made an update for a while, few changes have been made, and it was raised for the mot, however I wound it down a bit lower afterwards.

First of all I have more black and white on the interior, with the lower dash, and door cards black, and the centre vents and window vents now white

Also here's a picture at the specialist tyres heatwave meet showing the new ride height, credit to Richard halfday photography
