VW Polo Mk2 Red 1990 1043cc Classic Car For Sale

Featured Replies

Here we have for sale my beloved 1990 Volkswagen Polo Mk2 in classic red. This car is in excellent condition, I have owned the car for over three years now and it is my pride and joy. It has had one previous owner who owned it for almost twenty years being garaged the most of its life and having a FULL service history with an oil/filter change at every interval.

Service History Intervals:

3986 miles / 7923 miles / 11028 miles / 13654 miles / 16580 miles / 19626 miles / 22696 miles / 26045 miles / 29334 miles / 40129 miles / 45538 miles / 50626 miles / 55343 miles / 59745 miles / 68102 miles / 72688 miles / 78870 miles / 84719 miles / 89321 miles / 95232 miles / 99393 miles.

The engine runs perfectly and has never let me down in every kind of weather, I drive the car all year around, normally short miles to and from work but it is great to drive on the motorway happily at 80mph with one of the smoothest rides. The engine is only a 1043cc but it is a really light car so is very nippy and not too shabby on fuel for an older car.

It has had a new timing belt, new water pump, new clutch, new air filter, new rear springs/struts and front strut tops all at 89321 miles. Also a new distributor, ECU module, new front discs and pads, as well as rear pads and new brake pipes front/rear were fitted at 95232 miles. The car has done less than 1500 miles in the last three years.

The body work is in excellent condition with no rust and the paint is of a high quality with limited fade for its age. On its last MOT (May 30th 2012) there was an advisory of ‘slight corrosion’ on the sills so I recently had them stripped back and recovered, the next MOT is due on 1st June 2013 which I have booked in next week so it will come with a full years MOT. The underneath of the car is solid with a full under-seal coat, just the odd stone chip on the bonnet etc.

The interior is immaculate and like new with general wear, it currently has a CD player but it will be sold with the original Panasonic cassette player. All the tyres have a decent depth, with original white VW wheel trims and the car has just done over 99000 miles and I am still driving the car so there will be a few more when sold, it is taxed till May 2013. It has got a full Maystar Alarm fitted however when I bought the car it did not come with the clickers but I have been told it wouldn’t cost much to get a couple of clickers programmed for it.

Now that I have told you all about the car, I am looking to sell the car to the right buyer as it deserves a good home. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time or have my own wasted. I am looking for £1200 but I am open to offers but sensible ones only please. The reason for sale is that I am ready for something new.

This car is a lovely little classic and is great for a collector or a first timer’s classic car (the Mk2 Polo featured in a recent month’s Practical Classics magazine as the perfect first classic with the value range noted from £750 - £1500).
