well bodged up my oil gauge, got plenty of pressure hot + cold :)

having problems with it being tappety when it starts to get hot, not sure my tappets are too healthy, why i didnt strip and clean them i dont fucking know.

Because impatient ;)

4-2-1 mani will stay that pretty for about a week then turn to shit, annoying

i built the head up really quick as i was gonna get it in for poloshow, didnt even think to take it apart again, woulda took 5 mins!

Oh and i tried stripping and rebuilding my tappets to quiet them down, made no difference at all.

If there out of tolerance/worn, your better off just replacing.

gonna raise this today, wanna be able to drive it properly. also going to be looking for some bigger wheels if it looks gay.

well, its raised up now. drives 10x better. can even go down straight roads without it scraping :o hhahaha

realised what thenocking noise over potholes was, front was so low that the thread sticking out the top of the nut on the track rod end was hitting the body of the car :lol:

in other news..... found some MOT issues....

heres a list of what i need to do...

  1. unblock windscreen washers (AGAIN)
  2. new wiper possibly
  3. need new CV boots all round, so may aswell get some new shafts
  4. need new TCA's as the ball joint gaitors are fucked
  5. sump is leaking oil
  6. front brakes need changine to my VW1's finally as I've worn my pads out so i have an excuse
  7. need to put some different rear wheels on as mine are scrubbed from previous owners unrolled arches
  8. exhaust is blowing where the AFH manifold dont connect properly
  9. fog light bulb needs changing to a red one
  10. engine bay wiring needs tidying up
  11. need to run engine in and set my fuel mixture and timing

done 220 miles on the engine now, seeming well.

possibly a couple other bits but thats the list ATM! best get cracking :lol:

refitted my oil pressure gauge and did the wiring properly, also got wideband sensor working...

having a couple idling issues though since i played with the carbs earlier. tis strange

Can get new balljoint dust covers off ebay for like 6 quid a pair if the balljoints are actually alright, better than 40 odd quid for new ones if they arent

Had to replace mine for mot, but balljoints themselvs were fine etc, ordered medium and large size. Large is defo too big, medium fits well but sags

over the bottom slightly so i'd go for small tbh :)

Got impatient and gave it a lil in 2nd. Oh my days haha. Was running mega lean though.

Using 145 jets atm. Tad small i guess.
