One of my first posts, I'm a fresh member!

OK Just wrapped my front and rear badges on my 9n in black and white vinyl.

First time doing a wrap so if anyone's got anything to add, did I do a good job etc. just thought I'd show everyone! :-)

Looks good man, seems like a fiddly job you did well to make it look like it does!

yeah it was quite a painful job but got there on the end... just used a hair dryer to heat up the vinyl so it flexes and a very sharp knife for the cutting :)

I think it looks pretty good, where did you get the patterned wrap from?

Basically this section is for you to post/show your car as you are making progress rather than to just post about something to do with a 9n. You've started a build thread already (this is it) so you may as well carry on and keep us up to date with the progress you make :-)

OK so yesterday it was warm and sunny for a little while so one thing that I've been needing to do was restore my yellow gunky headlights.

I've seen people do it online with mechanical polishers and a million different products... I had it in my head I could do a job to a similar standard with this stuff;

The Mr sheen is for plastics/glass, not wood...

Straight to the before and after pics, not a bad job if I don't say so myself! Came up a treat \/\/

Sorry for the bad picture quality, my canon wasn't charged up and wasn't going to risk it raining before I finished!

So basically all I did was get it wet and clean it with soapy water and the sponge,

once it was wet I rang the sponge dry, then used the rough side of the sponge to scratch away all the grime and get right in there, with lots of pressure for about 5 minutes until the sponge and light were dry and you can't feel any rough bits on the light when your scrubbing, just smooth...

Then I dabbed a bit of turtle wax onto a bandage and scrubbed again hard in circular motions, I re-applied the wax a couple of times after it went dry to be thorough, after that I polished it with a microfibre cloth (from wilko's) and the mr sheen plastic and glass polish. Applied lots of polish in circular motion, sometimes spraying as a went, and boom! nice shiny headlights, saved a few pennies too :-D

I know man, such a pain in the ass but it looks sweet! you got any pics?

Yeah special sanding paper and mechanical polishers... just pure elbow grease and some household stuff lying around does it just as nice for practically nothing

So you've started this thread (post) in the built section, showing other people on what you are doing to your car, so a quick heads up on editing the first post and changing the title to what ever you like to do with your car etc so people know what they are gonna get before opening it..

Looks a good result, I used the meguairs kit off the shelf on my palls 6n2, still not brilliant but I need to do mine because of all the stonechips..

OK Today I sprayed my rear lights all red red using E-tech lens spray =]

7.50 from ebay with free postage, good stuff!

I started by covering all the bodywork surrounding the lights generously in newspaper and masking tape:

Can see the new subs hiding away there

Took me only about half hour / 45 mins but was worth it I think, I'll soon take some photos without all the paper on the bodywork :-)

bro they take like 5mins to get out. Just a heads up you need to clear coat or laquer over the top or that paint will fade, trust me, mine did and now they're orange. Also your indicators will flash red unless you get green bulbs, this isn't really problem but not sure how it sits with MOT as I've always swapped mine back to standard ones.

Really refreshes the rear though doesn't it! :p

Should off took them out for a better finish with no runs etc... I did it on mine, had I lacquer them too otherwise they fade like a bitch..

Could you tell me what preparation work went in to spraying your lights please or is it just wash the dirt off and spray it on ? Thanks

Liam - I did mine via flatting/ruffing up the surface using 1000grit or so. Then spray alow 48hours to cure and dry properly flat(sand) back any runs, then laquer them, each coat making sure there are no runs...
