Was quoted 115 originally but got charged 105 maybe I heard wrong, either way I'm very happy with what they have done. Dubownerbilco payed 45 for his to be done... And they removed his vacuum advance mushroom differently to mine. No idea why. I had full refurb, advance curve, removal of vacuum mushroom and new distributor cap and rotor arm.

I cant believe its been a year and a half since i last posted on here. A LOT has happen since the last time...

The Afh/Avy 1600 Hybrid has come to a stop still sitting on the engine stand all pretty. All extras are still boxed up collecting dust.

I havnt been able to bring myself to sell it as i spent a lot of time building it, and was hoping to use it but i will explain a bit later on.

I become a Dad about the same time 12/11/13 that the progress stopped and once i found my self back in the garage doing work on my car.

I brought this back in Feb 14, it had not been M.O.T 'd Since 09 and had been sitting for around 4+ Years in Grass.

I Brought It with the intention of putting the 1600 hybrid in my red coupe and using this one as track/weekend toy. The main reason i brought the car was i liked the original G40 intercooler position/splitter and the wheels it also had a couple more bits that are fairly hard to source on there own.

So i Shall Leave it there for the moment.

bastard! i want one of those splitters!

So i got the car home and completely cleaned the exterior to get rid of all the green and see what i was dealing with.

The next job was to completely strip the interior as all the carpets were wet. Either the sunroof was leaking, door seals were perished, or the battery tray was corroded.

I then checked the engine to make sure it was sound, i drained the oil and fuel, topped up with some new stuff. Cleaned the plugs and it fired up on the button with a new battery and there was no rattles and no smoke. I did a Compression Test that Was all Fine.

Soo the Plan was to tidy it up around the edges...

*Check For The Leak

*Check For Rust

*Spray Door Shuts

*Service

*Drive

Well it didn't go that smoothly to say the least... I was not happy with the build quality or the fact that it had been sitting for 4+ Years and i knew nothing about this car. So the car was completely striped down until all i was left with was a bare shell on axle stands and a list of Parts.

The first job was to check the battery tray... in a word it was dead.

Next on the list was to check the floor pans, seals, mounts, chassis legs, arches.

First thing i noticed was the spare wheel position was beyond even attempting to repair so that was cut out, track car didn't need that anyway, in a word scrap.

I spent the next couple of weekends with a friend, attacking the under body seal with a heat gun and wire wheels. i was shocked with what i found.

The Outter seals and inner seals were in need of replacing, both rear arches were in need of some serious repairs.

The Rear panel and inside the boot was full of filler. From an educated guess i would say it had been hit up the ass and covered up.

And The Floor Was just full of small holes and a couple of larger ones.

my%20iphone%20580_zpsoxklptne.jpg

The pictures give it more credit than it deserves otherwise i wouldn't of done what happens next.

The car was far beyond my repair, and i would of had to spend far to much time and effort to get it to an ok state and i was not prepaired to do that.

So this happened... i do apologize for the graphic content, some viewers may find disturbing.

So i was now left with two PY G40 Engines and one AFH/AVY Hybrid.

So The Choice was Simple Build a Fast Road/Track Car.

So My Poor little 1.0L Polo got stripped to a bare shell and planning begun and i started collecting parts.

First Things First i sent one of my JabbaSport Stage 4 Chargers To Roettele Racing for a G45 Full Rebuild + G45 Map and 250 kPa Map Sensor.

Sent My Injectors to Clive at AutoTronixDevelopments for cleaning and testing.

Sent my Cylinder Head off for rebuild + 3 Angle Valve Seats.

The next thing i did was weld in a rear strut brace that StinkyPete Kindly Agreed to make for me!

The next thing to do was try and fit the 22.2mm master cylinder... but the bottle fouls on the body. so once again StinkyPete kindly Agreed to make me an alloy spacer.

The next thing to do was mock up and fit the intercooler + Pipe work route.

So i got hole saw happy and this happened, Made holes on the out side and the inside to allow air flow.

Thats It For Tonight Enjoy!

Awesome.

Spacer looks good, wish I had done it this way now but i instead cut the push rod down and used a custom fluid reservoir set up.

Cheers Buddy!

I just ordered a mk2 golf master cylinder and bottle and made it work the best way I could think of!

It wasn't fun removing the studs from the pedal box.
