MOT tomorrow if it fails it will fail on the copper rear brake lines ;) but getting it done at the halfords mot center hoping there not as anal as some of the local garages who want it to fail so they can make some more money.

  • Author

On Tuesday it went for an mot and it failed on the break lines and they proper failed had to drive home with no brakes lost all the fluid from a burst rear line i had a feeling they needed doing.

i was told by the mot station i would have to do another full test because of the fails yea right i dont think so??

so thought just fix the mot fails and get it threw another mot and get it done and over with even if i have to pay for a full test again.

I fitting new rear copper brake lines and a few small mot issues and tried again to get the car threw its mot on Friday expecting it to pass but it failed again but with different fails that they didn't notice in the first test i was like wtf if i new i would of sorted them and that was the point of the first test.

I didn't get the derby to retrorides :(

this time its only a partial retest like it should of been before so will get it ready for this Tuesday wish me luck <_<

Have complained to there area manager and will push for all my money back wish i went with a local garage and paid more but less in the end.

AVOID HALFORDS MOT STATIONS even if the cheap mot price appeals to you paying the normal price of 50quid will mean less hassle in the end lesson learned

I did get to retrorides but not in the derby did meet series2 at the mk1 polo stand and his derby :) did see lukes minter but no luke will try and say hello next time and also James McCafferey mk1 looking good as always also didnt get to meet but always next time :)

Best of luck for today bud, you've worked exceptionally hard! Glad I didn't sell mine to you in the end otherwise i'd be damn jealous of you getting to work on it and turning it around so quick!

I'm in Bristol tomorrow eve and Thurs morning, would love to have a gander at this if you're about?

Bravo Sir! I'm not sure if you're committed or need committing, but you're doing a great job. Great to see this getting another lease of life. If that were mine I would've weighed it in. I'm looking forward the next update.

Great (and a lot of!!!) work!

About time for an Update.

Got my self a new unit this one has space to store and work on cars inside so i can get on with my build without having to wait for the workshop to be free and having to always keep the car so it can be moved.

IMAG0156.jpg

So Now the derby is in his permanent space i can strip all the suspension and stuff from the front end.

IMAG0160.jpg

IMAG0161.jpg

First job was the engine bay removing the factory stone chip in the engine bay and preping it for some paint!
