Poloshow 2013: your thoughts

Featured Replies

I couldn't get the holiday booked so I could come down with the rest of the other Scottish guys, but had planned to come down Saturday & head home Sunday - but I got laryngitis and I'm signed off sick - so in the end (after weeks of slowly getting the car ready) I never made it!! :-(

Roll on next year (holidays already booked!)

Rumour is that BVF is on next year...means the show date will more than likley change Andy :-p

Jake the chair thingy was after everyone had left mate :)

Waited 2 years for this show as I missed last year, but it was worth the wait.

Had a great time and thanks to Liz I have bought a GT again :)

Weather was almost too much for me, since I don't see much sun up here in the North East of Scotland.

Can't wait for next year...

i couldnt make it because passing my test before the show didnt go to plan :( I've not failed or anything, just haven't sat it yet becuase of my job messing me about with getting started.

For me its pretty much the venue, doesn't sound too appealing. It's probably the reason I still havn't been to the poloshow having had 3 mk3s inc two G40s since 2007!

tbh billing is a shithole and stinks like one too  but it haz go kartzzzzz

I'll join the bandwagon too, my first polo show too :p

As everyone said about the turnout being low was a bit of a bummer as I thought it was going to pickup too!

Really enjoyed it, top weather, relaxed and I'd definitely go again next year, hopefully my standard 9n might have some modifications on it by next time :D

Its a caravan site in the Midlands, I'm really not sure what some of you people were expecting it to be like?

How can the venue be any better?

It is a nice flat field, sectioned off from everyone else around. We don't get 'that' much trouble from outsiders. What more do you people want?

I was gonna say. There's a fair, more than one source of food and alcohol on site, toilets and showers and our own field, sounds ideal to me

didnt say i wanted anything else

Only outsiders 'trouble' I saw was some random 14 year old girl telling nick he was a dick head, and that chav getting threatened by his mum on Sunday afternoon

Both were more funny than anything

people moaning about the site have obviously never been to edition38 show, thats a proper shithole

the chav recieved plety of abuse back from aa very wobbly mikey

Fantastic time as always! Good to catch up with old faces and meet new ones. Billing is a shithole but pikeys are funny so I think it should stay there + shower blocks and toilets are good + plenty of places for food/beer

Roll on next year! :-D

Glad you made it home safe, she is called able mable so hopefully she will be a good car for you :-) I'm glad she has a good new home, it felt mighty odd not just driving home yesterday though i have to say. Bring on the return of the Bluester!

Had an epic breakfast at the venue so thats a winner for next year, 6 items for £3.50 can't complain at that.

Was another great show, as said though was a pretty poor turn out, i think about the same as last year and it was pissing it down! we couldn't have had better weather. I don't have any complaints about billing and they have even replaced the hand drier in the ladys finally after 10 years

I'd go the PS over action but admit I dont like billing but I still go (would rather somewhere better) I've been to e38 about 5 years back and vowed never to go again as it was wank and full of bellends

Edition is held in a farmers field, one time we had to dodge sheep shit when pitching our tents. Other than the show stuff there is nothing there other than a toilet block thing that would put Glastonbury toilets to shame. Action is far and away the better of the two shows in every single way

I wouldn't be put off polo show by the site tho, its really not as bad as people are making out. The showers are good, the toilets ain't bad, plenty of places to get food and get into drunken mischief, the field itself is good and although there seemed to be a large number of pikeys there this year they didn't give us any bother. I think at least some of them were there for that max RPM show that was on on the Sunday

Although I came over for a few hours i didn't stay. Tbh I forgot it was that weekend, and was busy with work, so it slipped my mind. Was out the Friday too, so was no good Saturday

If I'm honest though drinking in a field for a full weeked doesn't have much appeal, I get agitated, especially with a car and house to sort. If there was entertainment or something, or even if everyone huddled together during the day, that might make it more appealing. As it was, there seemed to be a few groups dotted about. I'm sure the nights were a different story.

Still, for the few hours I was there it was good, hopefully in a proper polo next year

Surprised to hear it was quiet, it seemed pretty busy (for a Friday night) when I was there. Didn't many others turn up the day afterwards?

Mind you, last year's weather was so awful that a downturn this year was inevitable I guess. As in people won't plan to go just in case, then when it comes around they're not prepared. I reckon you'll see numbers increase next year based on the weather.

I'd be lying if I said it was my best ever Polo Show, given that I was there about 19 hours, but it was good to see people briefly.

I saw you sneak away :ninja:
