Poloshow 2013: your thoughts

I got up late, I was in a rush. Woke up, unzipped the tent and creased metal was the first thing I saw.

However, a productive Saturday has helped this week along.

To me it seemed the busyest it has been in like 4 years? Lol

what happened?

Max last two times I've been were much busier than this years show. Its been mentioned a few times now but this years show clashed with two pretty big shows, its not really surprising that it was quiter than previous years

I had a great weekend :-D . Actually didn't bother me that it wasn't massive, as in a way its better small. Weather was amazing so was surprised that the turnout wasn't bigger, but then again, Inters was the same weekend. The show was great fun and well organised. Barbeque was good, burgers were proper size and the paddling pool full of ice water for the drinks was a top idea. People who didn't come missed out big time. I will definitely be back next year, whether I have a polo or not is up for debate though.

May have been quiet, but the show is about the people who attend, not the people who didnt, and I had fun with whom was there, doesnt mean you wouldnt still have fun if more turned up, but I'm not dwelling on the fact it may have been quiet :)

Tbf I joked about the canal but the smell actually comes from the canal basin by the main entrance to billing. It was fine till half way through Saturday then the wind changed.

what happened?

An old couple used my car instead of their brakes at a red light five minutes outside Billing on Friday afternoon.

I used Saturday to price up a repair, to present to the insurance assessor this morning. That's been really useful.

Then I went home and tidied the house (that's not a metaphor if you're wondering) because nobody was home and I couldn't sit still. Very angry.

Ah man gutted :-(

Oh yeah thanks to everyone who give me a hand with my car,

Still broken though :(

Now that I'm fully recovered I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who was there and helped to make it a great event. I had a great time and it would seem that everyone else did too!

Numbers were less than expected but I don't think I could have cooked any more burgers, cooked about 80 + hotdogs!! :-D

There were a couple of big shows on which I'm sure effected turnout but it didn't effect the vibe of the show which was great!

But if there anything we could do to make it better please let us know we will try to take everything on board!

This was my first Polo Show and it was great. When the 2014 date is fixed, I'll save the date and try to come again next year.

Well i got off to a horrible start.

I'd spent all week juggling the task of looking after a toddler and building an engine in time. Got the Polo together by the end of friday and running sweet first thing saturday morning. Drove it about getting beer, bacon etc and it drove lovely, was on my way to Billing and whilst idling at a roundabout it just randomly squeeked like nails down a blackboard and seized solid.

What do? Grabbed a tow home, grabbed the wife's car off the drive and was at Billing within the hour, of course! Total shame on those without that commitment!

I was gutted though, so instant necking of cider to cheer me up ensued as soon as i arrived. Another hour and i was fucking mullered already, so i just walked around burning to a crisp, invading all possible space - didn't burn like Jaime though, who removed his vest, only to look like he was still wearing it.. But i was wearing slippers on the sunday, as you do, so my ankles are not in a good way.

Proper good weekend, much needed by myself and appreciation to all involved for making it what it was! On every level! Yeah the turnout wasn't what it should've been but those who were there ensured that didn't really matter. Only moan about the venue was the stink, no doubt partly to do with the heat but it shows Billing has a problem there, otherwise it's fine..?

mikey you have to come action with us. will make the weekend so much better lol

But i won't be drunk..

owwwww hahah. drunken mikey is awesome lol.

i swear you must have see through eyelids you were walking about with them closed all night

And next year we'll have our own thread "german polo show convoy 2014".

Nice that you've liked 1st the place (and the 1st place), 2nd the show (and the 2nd trophy) and 3rd the journey and most of all the people who were all always very very friendly to us. i never met an ashole there in the last decade.

Man i'm running out of space on my left rearwindow, have to start to remove some other stickers to the other side for next year's sticker.

my pics will follow later, have to sort them out next days and have to look out for some videos. So who ever has got videos from the show, i will set them online on vwpolo6n.de when it's ok with the copyrights. size doesn't matter!!! so gimme all your smartphonevideos, contact me under christian@vwpolo6n.de please.

cheers

Lmao at mikey talking with his eyes closed.

Lmao at ginger biscuits

the ginger biscuits were awesome ha

Mikey being so engrossed telling everyone his tales had me

I'm still mega red and ache!!

I had fun tbf

Fuck your ginger biscuits max  there in and on my car still!!

Remember...don't drink "blueberry vodka" out of a Teso value bottle with things in the bottom.

It could be anything.

Only drink from reputable bottles like this:

Some of the reactions to Nige's evil drink were classic.

Toby getting instant hiccups and Eric spitting it straight back out and moaning kormas are hot to him haha. Hours of fun.

Lmao

Fuck your ginger biscuits max  there in and on my car still!!

Hahahahahaha

I had about 15 people come and ask me for some purely for throwing them at one target lmao
