Hi all! I've killed my micra (oops) and i decided i needed a new car (i didnt really decide, it was forced upon me).

my mates selling a 1.4 R reg Polo cause hes getting a 1.0 one (crazy right)

just wondering what to look out for!

Excited to get the cash together (on the proviso i sell my staggered rims) and get this puppy rolling :)

do you guys attend many shows? i went to that DC13 lark and it was shit, nothing to do, I'm used to jap shows where theres drifting and drag racing and all sorts on!

The polo will be lots better than the micra.

Look out for rust on mk4s - sills and arches most common spots.

Check for water pump and camblet having been changed in the past 4 years or 60k

Check electrics as windows are a common faulure on CL model.

Gearbox and clutches on the 1.4 8v are normally solid.

funny you mention those things, it has a small spot of rust on the rear arches, and some appearing on the sills, that will get tackled come winter time, and we literally just went to a scrap yard the other day and salvaged a working window winder unit! Leccy windows suck, i prefer wind ups but they're working!

its on 62K so I'll get it booked in for cambelt at some time!

also good news, sold my Grid V's and my micra today! I have enough to purchase my friends polo :)

they must be the majority of VW owners i've sadly come across... was always something big enough to put me off a VW ownership, and being tarred under the "ermagherd mah car iz so low and cost more than a house" group.

i have no problem with it, but when they go around bashing people who dont have a Mk6 golf on air and rotiforms its a bit silly...

i dont like the Euro pressed plates so they will be going, ill get a 12x6 front plate cause i have an Illest plate frame that i had on my yaris :)
