New member, 6N owner!

Picked up a 6N 1.4L (Not 16V, sadly) a few weeks back and have been lurking around since then, figured I'd introduce myself and the car as I plan on sorting out bits and pieces on it and this place has already proved pretty great for information. Figured the car would be a quick run around (first VW, always had my eyes on owning one) but have pretty much fell in love with the thing, so I'm planning on running it into the ground and giving it a good send off. Damn fun to drive, though the lack of power steering is a bit of a killer.

Only fault I've found on the car so far (attached an image for shock value more than anything, and it's being dealt with) is the front subframe being completely corroded. Pretty odd considering it's new wishbones/brushes attached on both sides.

Unsure what I'm planning with the thing yet though, whether I'll rat it out because it's nearing the end of it's life (engine still sounds great though!) or whether to turn it into a generic 6N you've all seen a thousand times before. But I'll whack up a WIP eventually.
