My name is Kieran

New to club polo so thought i should post in here. Got my first car which is a 1.4 16v Polo 6n2 (the 75 bhp one) with some mods such as stainless steel exhaust manifold and dual muffler back box, coilovers and alloys. The insurance companies hate me . This is only my first car, only 17, so going for stuff that will make it my own with mad plans for the future for when the insurance goes down and I'm a bit older.

Cars immaculate as my mate who i bought it off looked after it very well but some electrics eg. passenger window is playing up so any advice for that would be appreciated

very nice very clean hope you enjoy poloing lol but it needs to go a tad or two lower. carefull not thrash that 1.4 alloy engine they dont like it. is it the origanal gearbox ?

thank you and I will Hahah I wish I could go lower but I can't get it on my drive as it is and its my everyday car. Yeah I've heard the 1.4 vw engines in general are a bit like that. Yeas it is the original polo s gearbox. :)

Man how did you spot that :p yes you do but it passed its mot with them on a couple of months back but I do know a few testers so in alright hehehe

Can't go lower that's lies. It's not the cars fault its your driveway you need to modify. What the mileage on it ? I'd start looking/saving for a recon box ASAP apart from that they are lovey cars. Leather or cloth seats ?

He means that the gearboxes on these are made of chocolate and fall apart constantly so you will need to save up to get it reconditioned

Yeah okay I do have to go from first to get into reverse so I dont make some horrible noise. How much is it normally to be reconditioned?

whats up with the window? the switches fail all the time so it just doesnt work at all and the window can fall off the runners if the door gets slammed with the window open a bit...

is it only off the drivers side switch it does it? or does it do it off the passenger side too?

if its just the drivers side, it might be a dodgey switch. try popping the double switch out and swap the plugs round (iirc the brown plug is the passenger side) and see if it still does it.

you can change the switches individually too if thats the problem!

Its both sides, if that changes anything?

Welcome to CP. The newer polos arent really my cup of tea but its still a good looking car.
