I know I know, a new member with probably a dumb question haha but hopefully I'll convince you I'm not an utter numpty

I've been browsing this forum for a little while and I've gained so much info however, still looking for a bit more insight as to what you guys have got on your 6n2!!

I've had this car about a month now and done some bits and bobs so far but it's still on it's horrid little steel wheels with rather tired looking wheel trims *yuk.

After doing some research of what should fit both stud wise/width wise I purchased some alloys from ebay but when fitting they seem far too wide (what I really mean is illegal!) despite them coming off another 6n2 previously (according to the seller)

The ones I bought are 15" lenso bsx , 195/50R-15

Any advise? or should I admit defeat and resell?

We need some more info on the wheels like width and et. I'm guessing the will be 15x7.

I can't see how they can poke to far can you grab a pic with them fitted to see how bad they are

15x7 indeed... 15x7jj to be precise with et of 20

I have a photo of what they came off however, I would need to crop that down and get back to you as wouldn't want to spam other peoples cars lol they do sit a little wide on that but nothing like mine! I do however have one of mine when one wheel is being partially fitted.

(when i bought them they didnt come with the spacers so trying to line them up was a little bit trickier so wanted to check them out before doing it to all four & buying spacers and locking wheel nuts so after the drama trying to get one on and seeing the size i decided not to bother with the other 3)

The picture I've posted isn't when the wheel is completely fitted but it only slotted in an extra cm or so not the extra inch or two needed!

Made sure there's no metal spacers stuck in anywhere that I didn't see as well - It's just puzzling the heck out of me, previously owned 3 seats all which I changed the wheels on but these just have me stumped

Et 20 that's your problem they should be fine on the back but will poke on the front does. I'm guessing the tyre is out the arch my front are 7 with the et around 20 and I have had to use a 165/50 is the rim sits flush with the wheel sits flush with the arch and I have a bout 2 degrees of camber.

By spacers do you mean spigot rings that change that change the centre bore size?

Just seen the pic the sit more like an 8j wheel with a low offset. I don't know why though unless you have spacers in there. I ran an 8j et15 wheel and didn't poke that far. I currently run a 7.5 rear with et10 and sits flush with 5mm spacers

that does make sense *sigh and that's what I meant by spacers yes, sorry. But I definitely didn't use any whilst fitting.

They came off this which is what I don't understand (not sure if its a CP members old car?) - sit a little wide but nothing dramatic and there's no extra body work done..

- think i might have to just suck it up and re-list them! Let the search continue! That'll teach me for diving into things lol

this does seem quite unusual, youre wheels are supposedly the same dimensions as mine, 7J et 20, however this is how mine sit on the back with 165/50 tyres

what type of brakes have you got? as drum brakes could possibly sit further out than discs? I'm not sure on this but its a possibility

This is mine and a mates car the red one is on 15 x 8 with a decent offset.

Mine the silver one is on 15x7.5 with an et close to 10 however mine has camber and 165/50 tyre

15x7 et20 should be fine with some new tyres IMO, maybe a lip roll if you're lowered ~80mm or more
