Hey I'm pretty new to car forums and the whole modifying scene so any tips along the way wouldn't go amiss!

Bought the car almost 2 years ago and it's been pretty standard the whole time and only really started looking into things now.

These were the original pictures when I bought it:

So far I've added:

Pioneer avh 2300 head unit

Team heko wind deflectors

Removed polo and 1.4 badges

Sprayed front and rear vw badges

Vibe 1200w sub

Smoked rear lights with plastidip

This was when it was first de badged and sprayed badges

In the process of plastidipping

All finished plastidip

Obviously I still have a long way to go with things I'm still hoping to:

Buy dotz 17" freeride peak alloys with nankang tyres 5x100 17x7.5 205/40/17 ordered!

New door speakers hertz esk 165

Tint back windows

Apex 35mm lowering springs waiting to be fitted

And if I could find one.. A vw votex kit would be nice

Would love to hear any feedback, good or bad

Unfortunately impatience took over and I went for lowering springs as I couldn't wait!

These turned up today (apex springs 35mm drop all round)

I've also decided to get rid of the plastidip smoked lights and ordered some of this, hoping for a better finish

Plastidip isn't as easy as it seems to get off... Any tips? :/

Hopefully, it's sorta looking like off road mode at the moment :p I have 35mm apex springs which are being fitted in just over a week so that should leave around a 20mm arch gap all round

Slightly better photo of it here, I still think lowering will make the world of difference

35mm lowering springs will make barely any difference mate, i ran 17s with a 120mm drop all round on coilovers (max'd out with front helpers and rear adjusters removed) and it still wasn't as low as i would have liked!

Maybe I should have looked into it a little more before buying.

I assumed that as I have about a 60mm arch gap by getting 35mm lowering springs it would lower the car by that much so the gap would only be about 25mm? I guess it's not that simple?

Well the car won't be getting lowered til the middle of November anyway as my current insurance won't cover me :(.

However I've received a quote for when I come to renew of just £660 with Adrian flux for alloys, lowering springs and tinted windows for a 21 year old with 2 years :)

Managed to dewiper the rear last night,not easy to get that wiper off that's for sure !

Feels like the car is finally getting there, tints were done the other day, and springs will finally be fitted early next month :)

Also been busy with carbon wrapping il out up some more tomorrow, and it's getting the springs fitted tomorrow too, at last :)

Looks good, those wheels remind me of the new Audi ones. Like everyone's said more lows would be good.
As to the dude saying he lowered it 120mm on 17's...Wut....

Tastes are different bout wheels but you are doing what you like, so, go for...

One qestion bout lowering, did you lowering with springs from first page (yellow one) is that 35mm springs on oem amort's ?

Hi Fred yea that's with it lowered on the 35 mm apex springs, possibly a little bouncy at the moment but that's still on standard shocks so to be expected.

Coilies will be the next job but like I say it'll be in the new year and I'm fighting against huge speed bumps in my area, and I was a little confused with the 120mm drop

I'm glad you said the new Audi ones cause that makes them acceptable... It's better than them being compared to the Nissan note ones -.-

Nice car and good thread not sure what the fascination is with big wheels though would like good with some 15" rims. What does it drive like with them on?

Thanks Elijah, it actually runs really nicely with 17s and the wider tyres handles really well especially now it's that bit lower too.

Acceleration has definetly taken a hit since the bigger wheels but if anything it's made me a safer driver which can only be a good thing :p

Treated myself to a little £30 upgrade too as I was getting bored of my vibe one :')

Oh and here is some of the carbon wrapping I've done which I meant to upload recently !
