Polo 6n project :) *update 2014!

Featured Replies

Well, where do i begin, :) i bought my baby in june of this year. The car had a total of 74k KMS on it, thats what i liked about it the most! Timing belt was also changed last year so no worries about that!

I had to change the middle silencer though because it broke and i also had to replace the exhaust flex. It still had the original factory exhaust system!

However, the bonnet and the edges of my doors have the laqcuer peeling off, and the roof has become matte!

Left side electric windows does not work, and the channel where it holds is slightly broken so i have to pull the window to one side in order to close it properly!

Also, the console trim was cracked up quite badly! Of course, ut is expected on a 16 yearold car on a very sunny island!

I intend to improve/modify my polo a lot.

The list:

Glove compartment clip: done

Middle silencer: done

Centre trim: Done!

Headliner: in progress

Bonnet respray: -done

White indicator: - decided not to do

White repeaters - decided not to do

Left Electric window fix-

When i complete all of these i might replace the rear lights and maaybe change the dashboard lighting.

Now these are some pictures of my work in progress:

I started by gluing the pieces back together

I used a soldering iron to weld the oieces as well

I then smoothened it out with the soldering iron

Some photos of sanding and filling with bondo appear to have become lost, anyways here is the finished prduct. I then wrapped it in carbon fibre vinyl because the paint didnt turn out smooth.

Remove the bra, it will damage the paint work, all that polishing will be in vein.

Engine bay was cleaned, top cover was oxidized and had black spots everywhere! Sanded it down and buffed it with autosol, manifold cover was rusted so sanded it and sprayed it :)
