Crunching noise under the bonnet

Hi I own a 1.4 polo 6n2 and a couple of days ago there was a crunching noise under the bonnet. It wasn't too loud but it was noticeable. It only happens when the engine is running. And I have noticed it seems to be happening just next to the engine on the right.

Please help, thanks.
