1.6 StormTrooper!

Featured Replies

Hello! I bought this 1996 1.6 about a week ago, it had terrible paint! this is after the paint restorer and bit of a scrub up with lots of elbow grease. I have de-badged the boot (ruined my nectar card in the process) I have also changed the number plates, the standard ones looked boring.

Future plans are; refurb my wheels, lower it slightly, remove the side strips, wheel spacers to sort out the stance and eventually some new wheels...maybe.

The interior looks a bit dull and grey at the moment so will have to think of something to sort that out.

I dont think i have forgot anything! Any ideas, let me know.

:)

Spayed the backing on my badge satin black but forgot to take one before.

(lots of black bumper spray, grill looks grey without it.)

I have tinted the rear indicators slightly on my lights and have sprayed the back of the rear badge too but didn't have any strong adhesive to put it back on. (more adhesive on its way)

I have some clear front indicators should arrive tomorrow along with some spacers!

How much has peoples insurance gone up when they've declared suspension changes?

By the way, the sticker is coming off.. not a fan anymore.

What adhesive did you buy for your rear badge? Mine was painted and has just started to peel so got to take it off (some how).

Just some double sided waterproof tape.. I haven't received it yet but I'll let you know how it holds up when I put it back on. Do you mean the paint is peeling or the adhesive?

and do you just cut it to the shape so it's hidden in the back? I got reckless with mine and chucked abit of glue on it :-p so when I take it off I expect half the paint will come off too, ah well!

Yeah paint from the badge! Let me know how you get on!

I put a piece on the back it seems strong but time will tell when I put it back on.

It took a while for photos of the badge it does look very different and its a quite subtle "mod" if you can call it that.. Gives the car a newer look.

I done this a couple of weeks ago, satin black on my splitter, no sanding or priming and it turned out really good. I was very impressed. Back to black didn't work on it.

I'm going to do my door handles next but might have to tidy the garage first to fit the car in.. I don't think the rain will hold off long enough to even try it tomorrow.
