ste's black 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

Hello everyone :) I've just bought another 6n2 :) some of you may know it, it has been to a couple of shows over in England and has won a couple aswell, there's a build for it somewhere on here from the previous owner for those who would be interested :)
The spec in this car is top notch it's a 1.4 16v, has a folder loaded with history and is absolutely immaculate so couldn't go wrong.

Here's a snap if my other 6n2:

Yes I know it did look better on the bbs but sadly they didn't come with the car :(

Previous work:
Jap spec rear bumper.
Usdm style side lights in front bumper.
Smooth number plate recess.
Coilovers.
15x8 3sdm's refurbished in blue.
Roller arches all round.
Drivers side stubby mirror.
And a far with more :)

So far all I did was:
Put my Gti leathers from the silver polo into it.
Wind deflectors.
Alpine double din head unit.
Gave it a good clean from top to bottom.

I have very big plans for this but have to sell the silver polo first to get the funds :)

This is actually my favourite 6n2 ever! Got so much love for it! The way it used to look though...

Good on you for putting your own stamp on it though. Look forward to updates :)

Ran into a slight problem, because the car was sitting up so long the adjuster on the front coilovers has siezed so will be putting my new coils from the silver polo into it :) then I will have it sitting a lot lower lol

I remember this polo, nice purchase. Not sure what else you can to it though as it was basically complete by prev owner....plans?

The plan is to put it on air bags :D;) just have to sell my silver polo first :) have the kit sorted though

I think you should smooth the wings and only keep US side indicators:D

Polo is away in the body shop for a while to get a few bits tidied up. Would love to make a mk5 golf style bootlid handle but might just leave that for another while. My silver polo is now provisionally sold so it will be soon time to get on with the air bags :D hope to have it back by the end of next week so will keep yous updated :) put my jom coilovers from the silver one into the black one so got it to sit a lot better now and also got Gti fog light grilles so will update with pictures once I get it back :)

Didn't get a chance to update yet but a bit has happened first of all sent it in to get the rear arches sorted as they were bubbling but of coarse sending it in to get one thing sorted isnt possible so ended up getting the join that is under the rear lights smoothed, petrol cap smoothed and mirrors sprayed :)

While everything is out I'm going to give it a good clean. Next up is too get the struts and bags, all going well I hope to have it done before Christmas :)

I remember this motor, nice to see you bringing it back. Great work so far!

you got a broken cupholder? hahaha :ninja:

  • Author

Thanks man :) although it looked so much better on the bbs when Dan had it, I'm happy with the 3sdms they will sit so well with the arches when it's aired out :)

Hahah well spotted, the cover keeps falling off :( nothing a bit of super glue won't fix though :)

Hiya dude, what struts and bags will you be using ? i'm struggling to find any!

  • Author

I've had a good look around and I plan to use airride system UK bags and struts. There cheap and chearfull, from what I hear the fronts don't go extremely low but for the price you can't complain, Andy with the red polo on grey bbs on here and Sam with the 'purple haze' polo both run them and they reckon that they are decent and they can be modified to get them lower :)

I'm still on the look out for others so I will let you know if I find any better options :)

Lovely looking motor :)

Time for an update, unfortunately it's not that I got my bags but I have got a few other little bits and bobs :)

first of all I got new tailored mats with polo 6n2 written on them and blue around the edges of them and a snap off for my steering wheel of corse has to be blue :D

Got some new vibe door speakers which are so much better than standard and finally don't have to listen to the crackles from the old one which was fucked :)

Found an old phone holder that sticks to the windscreen and the autopilot v2 fits perfectly in it :)

And that's it for now will keep yous posted on how the air profess goes :) have most of the management, tanks etc all ready to go so just waiting on the struts and bags now :)
