Hi everyone, recently bought myself a car some may know/have seen due to its feature in FastCar magazine, well the car was sold in march for £2500 to someone who really never looked after the car, ran it into the ground, and didnt care about it, i seen the car come up for sale and seen the potential in it straight away. I sold up my impreza and made the journey in a recovery truck to collect her.

The bad bits list is never ending ..

4 bald tyres
wheels need a refurb
no tax
no mot
no cd player as it was stolen
no windows worked
drivers door loom was melted/ caught fire
wires and cables everywhere
bumper scratched/ grazed
bonnet covered in water marks due to face mask
small dents in body work
very dirty
drivers side front bearing gone
no handbrake
rear brakes needed done
front brakes needed done
ABS sensor away

and soo on ..

the good parts now

2 way rayvern air ride suspension, shortened struts and firestone bags
380cc Compressor
6.5j Banded space savers
tidy enough car except the dirt and dings
false floor
smoothed boot
GTI seats
GTI Headlights
and only 75k miles on the clock



Full face mask "gimp" mask will be for sale, aswell as banded space savers with 4 brand new tyres soon.

Was this up for sale on Ebay? I was tempted to buy this....you probably got it for a bargain!

not entirely sure it was on ebay, got it off gumtree, basically paid for the car, and got everything else free...

Well the car needs a front bearing then it's all good for its MOT, it's insured and will be taxed tomorrow after the MOT, then it will be on the road, only things lefts to do after that are cosmetic! meaning saving for paint, fresh wheels, and interior work as well as new parts. Brakes have been done handbrake done, 4 new tyres, and a few other things, currently working on a new controller for the air ride ...

Good to see its went to a good home and someone is looking after it!

its also good to see the gimp mask going the journey... i dont like them at all!

any ideas on what you're wanting for wheels if the bandeds are going?

going to run the banded steels through winter, save up as much as i can for some nice shiney splits, as its crying out for nice wheels, also I'm going to pick up 2 front seats on Monday so standard GTI seats may be up for sale soon, will also be extending the false floor from just the boot to include the back seats making it a 2 seater.

if you want to sell the steels some time messige me a price cheers simon

little side project happened over the past day or 2 ..

instead of the switches on the dash, i modified an xbox controller to use as the air controller.. still needs a little work and some heat shrink, but its different to the norm.

Got a price from my local painter for a full front end respray, bumper, wings, bonnet, and blended into the doors/roof and sills, so hopefully by the end of November it should be in paint. Before it goes in, I will buy a Jap spec front strip for the front to remove the plate recess.

Got a meeting/appointment to go into a local audio company to get some ideas/plans sorted for a boot build, going for a simple false floor but with some nice touches to finish off the interior.

the Xbox air controller is awesome!

This happened today, need a new headlight dial as I broke mine.. Got interior plastics, arosa button blanks, new window switches and a few other things all for £5! thanks to the scrap yard

Also bought a driver side stubby mirror, it came of an arosa also, so need to change base plates and have it fitted.

Looking for a GTI splitter now, and hopefully get my seats fitted soon.

The xbox controller idea is brilliant!
