So I'm looking at selling my 6n 1.0, it was my first car and have had it for about 2 years now and think its time to move on.

Been looking at some tdi golfs, polos and various other cars but nothings really caught my eye.

I travel about 120 miles a week for work so i want it to be pretty good on fuel.

got a budget set around 1500 - 2000 ish.

what should i get?

I do 130 miles to work each week plus about another 125 business miles so have to drive a tdi however I have always said that if I was not doing business miles then I would have a lupo gti.

Agreed on 6n2 TDI, wish I had got mine sooner!!

Was going to include 6n2 tdi have had one in se spec however 120 miles per week for work is not much so petrol may be an option. Damn good car the tdi though.

quite like the lupos but the gti is above my budget.

You could get a tidy lupo gti for under 3k a tidy 6n2 tdi 1.5k - 2k for something worth having. Yes you can get them cheaper but stretch to the best you can.

Common faults are minimal but check that the gearbox works okay as problems with selecting gears is well documented. Check electrics as windows and central locking are common faults. I would also check that timing belt and water pump have been done in past 60k

Also check history as I have herd stories of the wrong oil being put in these engines. Cracking cars though I have had both a lupo sport and 6n2 tdi and both were cracking motors perfect for every day use.

Try and find an se spec model with the polo as its much better equiped all lupo tdi's are sport models.
