1998 Volkswagen Passat 1.8 20v turbo - Sport - Black

Featured Replies

Hey,

For sale is my 1998 Passat 1.8 20 valve turbo.

It's a sport and has coilies on the front and lowered springs on the back (as the rear suspension does not have a damper integral to the spring, they are seperate. (it can come with the original suspension if required).

Features include:

Electric windows all round

Electric mirrors

Remote central locking

Leather steering wheel

4 airbags

ABS

150hp

Metallic paint

Climatronic with air conditioning (which works perfectly)

impressive refinement level!

In the past 1000 miles it has had:

oil change and filter

pollen filter

air filter

Rear brake pads

Decent wiper blades

The car has MOT until april 2014 and tax until april 2014 too. It is on 148k miles.

The car has a slight timing chain rattle when on run down which is common when the tensioner is getting lazy on these 20v turbos. it does not affect the car in any way apart from making a noise.

The locking button on the remote must be pressed twice to look all doors.

Engine is very healthy and pulls perfectly with no smoke, sounds very healthy (apart from the rattle^).

Drives very nicely! The suspension is perfect (having looked under the car i can see that it has had quite alot of new parts on the double wishbone suspension on the front). brakes are perfect. Steering perfect. Interior very good (little dab of white paint on the drivers seat, otherwise very tidy). paintwork and body work very good. cant see any evidence anywhere of a crash at any point in it's life.

It has 4 all weather tyres fitted with enough tread to get through this winter.

it can get surprisingly reasonable fuel economy when driven carefully and for me the insurance price was also quite reasonable.

I'm looking for a swap. Offer me anything but i am REALLY looking for a diesel.

Price given to comply with forum rules: £700
