Hi all,

I thought i might start a thread as i've decided that i can't let it stay standard.

She is a 1.4 6N2 8V (already thinking of a 16V upgrade)

Sorted the duff starter, need to get a new thermostat.

Can't wait until pay day to get some rims and coilovers.

Thermostat sorted, coilovers ordered off Jackson Tunning :), ice updated, just bought a Pioneer SPH-DA110 and some cheap components . No idea what wheels to get at the moment, so going to be rocking the 13" steels until I find something.

I will need to get the seats refurbed, any one know of any companies local to Dartford or within 30 miles?

Coilovers have been delivered. :) :) :)

Can't wait lol, weather permitting, I'll be fitting them tonight :)

Next on the list, some wheels.

As she stands at the moment, going to be fitting the coilovers tonight.

Also managed to get my Sony Xperia connected to the Pioneer SPH-DA110 Headunit so i can now use my smartphone on my head unit :)

Coilovers finally on, forgot to take pictures while doing it, finished quite late and it was too dark for pictures. Ride is a bit harsh but I'll have to get used to it :)

Components fitted, sounds better already, need to find an amp and sub for some bass.

Will post pictures tomorrow in better light.

Looking through the shed I found the auto headlight kit I had bought for the passat but never fitted, will try and fit it some time this week.

Also found some fog lights and the grilles brand new for £55, hopefully they will arrive before the weekend.

Weather permitting I'll start on the paint correction this weekend.

Hope you like the progress so far as I'm enjoying doing the work :)

Looking good so far :) the headunit is the same one in my weekend toy, where did you find the surround for it?

P.S I totally know what you mean about the boat ride, it feels almost dangerous going round corners at any speed haha

Waiting on the fogs :)

Fog lights turned up today, busy weekend ahead :)

Fitting amp wiring for my old ken wood 8" amplified sub. Will try and get some pictures up.

Foglights and auto headlights fitted, still haven't fitted the sub yet.

Had a go at polishing my headlights, didn't come out too bad. Still need to do them properly as there still a few scratch marks visible.

On the plus side, I got offered a set of 14" wheels off a MK4 Golf. Will go and see them tomorrow.

More updates to come.

What are those leather seats from, are they a straight fit?

They are from a MK3 golf and yes they are a straight fit. You need to take off the little bit on the rears where they screw into the body as ours don't need it.

By the way the alpine is for sale if anyone is interested, will post in the for sale section tonight

Hi mate what does the auto setting do in the headlight switch ?

Wow that's cool I will get one of those does the coming home function work ok?

  • Author

Yes it does, but don't have it connected. Have seen it on a mates passat though and it's awesome.

Awesome would it take much to wire it up?

  • Author

No it doesn't. There is a red cable which needs to be connected to the hazard switch for coming home function, the original loom for the light switch plugs into the unit and it has a cable which plugs to the new light switch.

Your only problem will be to get the unit under the dash :)
