Yeah I'm waiting for price to drop and too see if they have any sort of issues etc. 360 will stay for the time being

I was going to buy one till i saw the price Thats alot of mods for the TT or the polo (even though its staying standard!.....well i say that), the 360 doesnt get much playing as it is, So i can wait.

Buy a decent Pc! for £500 you can get a pretty decent one that will play all games

Any reason people are going for the ONE?

I really want to get the ONE, but the fact they aren't re-releasing gta5 for it grinds my gears. I got the collectors edition too so seems a waste to put aside, all because everyone started crying that gta5 was being held back for the ONE

I've got an xbox one now as an early christmas present from the missus and i love it!

i think it'll only be a matter of time before they release GTA5 for the ONE... its not like there isnt any demand for it!

Those who are avoiding buying one because of the so-called technical issues seem to be stuck in the mindset that after they have paid for it, there is no warranty?!

Obviously aside from any warranty offered by microsoft or retailer, a good sold must be suitable for use and is expected to last a reasonable time. Therefore if you have any problems with the 'box you would just send it back and get a spangly new one (or a refurb)

Most of the issues to date appear to be software related, most of which have been patched - no doubt there will be more to find (and invariabley deny or fix)

In terms of day-day usage, there isnt a massive amount of difference between the two. Graphics arent massively improved for non-games (if you had it in HD before, its as good), the 'box is slower to boot up and sign-in than previous.

Some of the options are obscurely hidden away and many little actions take too long to perform (viewing notifications by pressing the middle button takes an age), clicking the middle button of the pad doesnt show the amount of battery power left, kinect can often pick up non-keywords during conversation which for games that offer UI commands via speech (dead risings pause menu) it can be frustrating if you have paused a game to take a call, to return to find yourself dead as the game unpaused itself.

Current app availability is worse than the 360, the most notable exception is the BBC iPlayer.

Basically Microsoft once again, have taken the better bits of the '360, chucked them in the bin and decided that thier god-awful one solution fits all - Windows 8 esque UI is better than familiarity.

I also question as to whether either of the console manufacturers decided to test their products fully with a representative sample of testers, rather than a load of paid-up employees with rose-tinted glasses.

Disappointing, however not unexpected. All MS had to do was do what they have done with the 360, carry on, no more, no less. Sony had to up their game. It seems that MS got confused. Looking forward to picking up a PS4 and having a dabble - I would have bought one already however there arent enough games out of either console at the moment to warrant it. If anything I am just going to pick up GT6 for the PS4.

Also final rant - No nurburgring is Forza 5 because its not been laser scanned. Piss poor selection of tracks in their to be fair. In what 6 versions of Forza, no monkey could be bothered to pick up a copy of Gran Turismo and think hang on a minute - more cars, more tracks and licenses coupled with our fantastic graphics and we could make a killer title. nooooooooooooooope. not one to rock the status quo.

Both are currently full of bugs so best avoiding either of them until they have a few months to iron out the issues. Plus the price will drop when everyone stops raving about them as it did with the 360 and ps3. Not that I will be buying either of them anyway, I'll leave the gaming to my brother and let him be the one to waste his hard earned on an overpriced console and even more overpriced games to play on it. I'd rather buy more parts for the Golf. I'd only be getting a PS4 for gran turismo anyway, but find a drive out with some mates in actual cars much more fun now I'm over 16.

The price for next-gen consoles wont drop for at least a year, guaranteed. Not whilst games are still being developed for the current-generation consoles.

What 'bugs' are you referring too, or you just jumping on the media speculation bandwagon dude?

There aren't any software bugs which render the console(s) useless, and any hardware issues can be resolved easily by returning your console for a newer one, within your statuatory rights.

For the most part, many people should just jump on the '360 wagon now, if they haven't already as there are a plentiful amount of games out there and the consoles are now an absolute steal.

And all bar the inclusion of a blu-ray player, they make the perfect HTPC setup.

Your reasoning of not purchasing one, is based on your own circumstances (you are clearly not a gamer) so why you would 'advise' gamers 'avoid' the consoles is beyond me Dan!
