as above, let us see what youve got so far!

if we get some rain I will check the beading

You're probably a minority there mate... wanting rain? normally it just comes.

anyway don't enjoy the rain to much, i'm sure its here to stay.

You made it rain! :(

Soon as I'm happy with the formula I'll fire out some samples!

I dont want to send out anything I'm not happy with.

Fair enough..

Just ordered some orange oil (D-limonene) to try in my mix.

I've ignored it as a solvent because I thought id found better! But as orange oil is such a good degreaser I think I'll try some of this in my formula!

Updates as soon as it arrives!

Heating both separately because the wax needs to be hotter than the solvents

Also not burning the house down is a priority!

Came off quite well but I dont think it was properly hazed.

I won't know if theres any residue till we get some decent sunlight on the paint

Sounding good.

  • Author

I'm still getting too much residue on the panels after hazing so I'm going to make another pot with less oil and more solvent

Success!

Congratulations! lol :) any pictures of what its lie on paint?

I'm going to give the car a good clean and clay bar. Then wax some sections and get some pics

Its quite a soft but spreads really nice.

Will probably wizz the car to the friendly foreigners and let them key up my lacquer for £5 at the 'car wash'. At least that way I can be sure theres nothing on the paint when I wax it

Looking decent, how old is your paint?
