6n2 back left brake or wheel bearing?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 6n2.

I've had the right hand side hand brake cable replaced because the hand brake was binding on. The handbrake seems to be working better now. I was told the cylinders, shoes and drums were all ok.

I know the back left wheel bearing is probably on its way out. It makes a griding noise when you go quickly round roundabouts. Since getting the handbrake done I get a similar grinding noise from the same wheel when I brake hard - the question: do you think that's the wheel bearing too or is it something to do with one of the brake shoes on the left hand side?

Thanks,

Simon
